I have bought several cars from Salem Nissan and had a very good experence
every timeAll service matters were taking care no hassles what so ever
The staff is very friendly and helpful
I had my car towed to Salem Nissan to be fixed they called me within hours said what the problem, replaced the piece within a day and then called and said they were still having problems. They originally told me a piece that was covered under my extended warranty caused the ECM to fail (this is covered under my Nissan factory warranty still. They tried to get my extended warranty to pay but it was denied because they sent an INDEPENDENT adjuster to see if the IPDM is what caused the failure. The adjuster and the service technician at Salem Nissan agreed the ECM was the cause of failure but when I called Kerri at Salem Nissan he denied that conversation ever took place. After calling Salem Nissan and CNA extended warranty multiple times I was left with questions and wanted something in writing from Salem Nissan to say what the problem was. I got something from Kerri stating that when vehicle was brought in IPDM and ECM were failed. The story changed so I wanted clarification. I told Kerri that I wanted to be sure I had the correct story because I am going to file a complaint with the Attorney general to see if my extended warranty or Nissan should pay. Once I said this he demanded I have my car towed of his lot and said he wasted enough time on me and his service men have wasted enough time and he would not spend anytime answering any more questions to the attorney general or anyone else. He accused me of threatening him and because of that no longer wanted to do business with me. I told him I never threatened him but I can not really tell the story without including Salem Nissan since they serviced my car. At this point he was just so sick of talking to me, and I understand that it was complicated but it is what it is. I asked him if he could just wait one more day for me to contact Nissan to see what they say and he agreed. When I spoke to Nissan I did not really get anywhere so I called and asked them to fix my car and I will pay for it. He said this is a different tune from yesterday and asked me why I was willing to pay. I said because I have been without a car for 11 days now and nobody else is going to pay at this time. He said he spoke to the owners and he said they didn't feel comfortable fixing my car and he would have to call me back. At this point I was just so disgusted with him I had my husband call. My husband called and they said they would only fix my car if I paid with Cash in advance. Since this was a $1600 repair that was not an option for us so I had to have my car towed to another dealership to be fixed They made my husband sign something that stated the vehicle and indemnifies Salem Nissan from any actions legal or otherwise before they gave him the keys (it is not his car so his signature means nothing, also it was signed under duress)
I was lied to and treated poorly. I hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through there. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!
