Safford Trading Company

I ordered from them and received my item within 3 days.

WARNING! If you are from out-of-state and will be purchasing a trailer from Safford Equipment Company (Safford Trading Company/Safford Sporting Goods), please be aware that you will be charges Alabama sales tax in addition to sales tax in your own state at the tag office. Therefore, double paying taxes. This would not have been an issue, had Safford disclosed this potential problem up front and gave their customer the option to negotiate this fact into the price or shop elsewhere.

In my case this was not mentioned over the phone when negotiating the price on a trailer. I got the surprise at my states tag office and had to pay the tax again. I called Safford immediately and was told by management, that it was Alabama's law to collect sales tax on out-of-state purchases and that he had no obligation to disclose this fact to customers. By not disclosing this information, I felt like their "satisfaction guarantee" was baseless. They made no attempt to rectify in the problem and told me it was too much trouble to take two seconds to inform their customers of this potential extra costs.

Do not buy from them. Placed an order for two items over two weeks ago. Payment by credit card. Items showed in stock on their website. Got a confirmation on order. Called since I did not receive the items.
They showed stock when I ordered, but canceled my order due to no stock, but did not notify me of the cancellation.
All they could say is that their system is suppose to automatically notify customers if this happens but for some reason it didn't. Too late to get them somewhere else for what I needed them, gift.
I gave them 1 star since this website will not let me give them no stars.
