On Monday March XX XXXX at approximately 7:40 pm, I purchased 4 Jonah Dungeness crabs. They were $6.99 a pound. The total cost was $18.94. When I arrived home approximately 8:30pm my intention was to separate the crabs and cook them over the 3 day weekend. Unfortunately the crabs had a foul smell and the legs were falling off. I took the crabs back to Safeway on Tuesday 3-24 after waiting for customer service, only to be told by someone speaking behind a door no returns and no refunds. I was offered an opportunity to go through the store and pickup items comparable to the cost of the crabs, but I declined. One staffer after speaking to the same person behind the door suggested I call corporate. I immediately made the call and spoke with Erica. She was able to locate the purchase using the number from my receipt. She gave me a reference #(XXXXXXXX)and told me to expect a call within 2-3 business days to discuss a refund. On March 27 I called corporate to make an inquiry concerning my complaint. This time I spoke with Nicolas. He told me they'll be no refunds due to the corona virus. I informed him of the conversation I had with Erica and he said she misinformed me. I truly understand the crisis we all are experiencing right now. My hours have been cut while others are not working at all. I didn't return the food due to a change of mind or overbuying. I wanted to treat myself. Selling food not consumable while choosing to withhold my money due to corona virus is unacceptable. Where's the fairness in that'
Corona virus or not, I deserve a refund!

Refund I'd like a refund of $18.94, an apology, staff well trained to handle issues when no manager is available, additional training for personnel responsible for making return calls, and qualified staff knowledgeable in handling seafood making sure it's kept at the right temperature.
