I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # *** This is in response to the erroneous claimsFirst it was I who called the police department because the business refused to return my vehicle to meSecond, the state inspection station concluded that this business held my vehicle from me against state policy inspection guidelines and also concluded that this inspection station erroneously stated my vehicle needed pads and rotors as the truck had all new brakes put on just hours before driving it to Safeway for inspectionI thank god that I took my vehicle to the DMV state inspection station as stated from Safeway my vehicle was found to have a defective brake hose which could've caused my family grave dangerSafeway did not find that hoseInstead Safeway wanted to replace brand new pads and rotors and leave a defective brake hose for me and my family to drive withThe office from the Cranston police has offered to give his verbal that Safeway held by vehicle from me when asked several times for it to be returnedSafeway owner told Cranston police it was against state inspection guidelines to return a vehicle to it's owner until the inspection was completeDMV state inspection has confirmed that is against the law for any garage to hold a vehicle from the owner at any given time of the inspectionThe owner *** of Safeway got so oblivious with us that we needed to call Cranston police to come as a person of peace

I'm responding to the complaint that you received from a customer [redacted]. This complaint has been filed with erroneous allegations. The customer brought a [redacted] for a state inspection. in the state of Rhode island once a vehicle is brought into the shop we have to do the whole process...
whether the vehicle passes or fails. we checked the vehicle over we ran the vehicle as per state law and failed the vehicle for items that did not pass inspection. The customer was very unhappy of the needed repairs and caused a scene in our showroom, we had to make a call to the local police. The customer had brought their vehicle to the state garage to look at the vehicle and since then the state garage validated the needed repairs and also found items that we had not seen. the state of Rhode island safety and emissions removed the plates from the vehicle for severe safety defects until certain defects were repaired they repaired some items and the state gave them the plates back but the vehicle still fails state inspection until the other items are repaired and they won't get a valid inspection sticker until all repairs are made. I feel there is no validation to their claim. They are just upset their vehicle did not pass inspection and are taking their frustration on us. This customer only paid a $55 fee for the inspection, at no point was the customer charged anything else and was not even asked for anything else. The customer was not even given an estimate for needed work. The customer is asking for a $1000 refund when she never paid more than the state fee of $55. You can call me at [redacted] or you can contact [redacted] at the Rhode Island safety & Emissions garage [redacted] thank you for your cooperation in this matter. [redacted]
