Safety Bath

I bought a walk in tub through Ability Solutions. They are an installer for Safety Bath Tubs. After having the tub for 2.5 years, the Gauge/Diverter for the water leaked. Ability solutions wants $364.00 to install the broken piece (Cost of part, and installation). I called Safety bath company to see about the warranty. Conveniently, they have a lifetime warranty on their tubs, and a 5 year warranty on the faucets/parts, BUT they only started that a year ago. Meaning, I am responsible for the part and installation cost.... AND the repair of the soaked ceiling. Since I bought their product 2.5 years ago.
I would seriously consider a companies warranty KEEP it in hand, because at least for these companies they want to sell their products but do not believe previous products they have made deserve a warranty.
