I am rejecting this response because:
Rich, the owner of Safe & Sound, continues to misrepresent the facts of the situation:1) He repeats the claim that he installed my dash cams according to the manufacturer's instructions Well, I would challenge him to tell me who the manufacturer of my cameras was, because it isn't marked on my cameras Plus, there are no actual instructions available from the manufacturer for wiring the cameras into the car, because every car is different This is where the shop's expertise with auto electronics was supposed to step in.2) Rich spoke on the phone twice in my presence with my mechanic, who explained to Rich as they had to me that my battery completely failed and would no longer hold a charge They also told Rich that even just one catastrophic draining of the battery can cause it to fail But Rich continues to ignore what the mechanic told him and asserts without a shred of evidence that my battery was already faulty My brand new Honda CRV, which I purchased in August 2015, has never had problems with that battery, and the car only had 5,miles on it, so there is no reason to believe that the battery was faulty.3) The "invoice" I received from Safe and Sound was a lump sum amount, or a flat fee It was not explained to me that it was 100% labor, and in fact I expected it was not, because I mentioned to Rich's employee, Craig, that they might need to use different power cables because my cameras came with cords powered by cigarette lighter and I knew they intended to wire my cams in a different way Safe and Sound should consider adopting the widespread practice of actually itemizing their invoices That would show which materials/parts would be installed, the labor rate, and labor hours quantity, which would provide a lot more transparency so that the customer knows what they are getting Furthermore, the internal notes used on the shop's ticket were never shown to me for verification.4) I relied on Craig to remember that I asked him at least TWICE to install the battery discharge prevention device I simply DID NOT FORGET to ask for it I took him all the way around my car to show him the setup I had with a different battery discharge device and explained how it was supposed to work, and as a mobile electronics installation shop, I reasonably relied on them to make sure that they would install my cameras in such a way as to protect my car's wiring and power supply That they neither warned me about draining my battery nor suggested I purchase a battery discharge prevention device (assuming for the moment that I had forgotten to ask them for it, which I didn't) in order to protect my battery shows professional negligence on the part of Safe & Sound.5) After my car battery had to be replaced, I made another appointment with Craig to bring my car back in to install the *** *** *** I had previously called Rich from home to let him know about my battery, and when I arrived at the shop, I calmly asked for them to reimburse me for my car batteryEven though I had only ever communicated with Craig, Rich didn't even seem to take time to figure out whether they might have made a mistake, and he immediately began blaming my battery's failure on me for a bucket list of whatever else he could think of that could have theoretically been the cause I don't think he took long enough to speak with Craig or the person who actually did the work on my car about the facts of the matter Craig, as much as I liked him, dropped the ball in this situation by forgetting to add the battery discharge prevention device to the shop's service ticket Instead of admitting to it, he and Rich accused me of failing to ask for the part's installation. 6) Rich initially decided to write me a check for my battery just to make this go away and said he never wanted to see my car at his shop againSo I had to leave without even getting the *** *** *** installed, which Craig had prepared to do, and I don't know how they wired my dash cams or whether they even used a step-down converter As a result, I have to go to another shop, and from initial phone calls it sounds like I will have to pay about the same amount of money to them as I paid to Safe and Sound in order to have them redo/finish the job In other words, not only did I have to buy a brand new battery, but the $I paid Safe & Sound basically went down the drain.7) I furthermore lost a day's worth of wages because of my car's inability to start I had to call roadside assistance to help me get to an auto repair shop, then wait for the mechanic to test and replace my battery, then spend over an hour in round-trip rush hour traffic to get to Safe & Sound only to be treated extremely poorly Overall, it was an especially stressful day, for which I received no sympathy.8) Around the same time that I spoke to Safe & Sound, I also visited another shop to discuss whether they could do the installation of my dash cameras, and they can testify that I also showed them my installation setup and requested that they install the battery protection device.9) I received Safe & Sound's check a week after my last visit to their shop and deposited itI also posted a fair but disappointed review of their business on *** due to my negative experience with Rich He sent me a *** message saying that it should have been a "given" that I wouldn't post a negative review, just because he sent me a check to reimburse me for my battery, and asked me to take it downThen he publicly responded to my review, where he made several demonstrably statements and sought to discredit me (I believe that is called defamation), and he rushed a stop payment on the check, which resulted in negating my check deposit and incurring a "returned item" fee issued by my bankThe way to avoid getting a negative review on *** is to actually do the right thing and behave appropriately when the unfortunate incident takes place.10) Finally, because Rich continues to misstate the facts, I intend to seek legal options so that I receive indemnificationUnfortunately, this would likely involve serving one or more Safe & Sound employees with a subpoenaUnless I receive a full refund of the $installation fee, the $battery cost, and the $fee assessed by my bank due to the stop payment Rich put on my check, and receive this amount within calendar days, I will also seek recompense for lost wages and damagesA formal demand letter to this effect will follow via certified mail and will include the deadline date as of the day it is mailed outRich can still contact me in the meantime through the Revdex.com or by email at ***@***.com

To whom it may concern,[redacted] brought us a dash cam to install that she purchased elsewhere. We installed this equipment precisely per the manufacturer's instructions. Her invoice from us reflects only the labor to install this device as requested and nothing else. She left the camera on for a...
period of time and drained her battery. Just like accidentally leaving the headlights on in your car and draining the battery. Even when this happens, it does not destroy the battery after happening once. It is obvious her battery already had problems. She came in making demands and initially we were happy to placate her just to resolve the situation but after leaving several negative reciews (even after giving her everything she was seeking), we decided to stand on principal. Her battery problem is completely her fault and we take no responsibility.Sincerely,Rich P[redacted] - PresidentSafe & Sound Inc.14508-B Lee Rd.Chantilly, VA 20151[redacted]
