I hired MrC***l to paint my home When he introduced himself, he talked a pretty picture, and assured us that he would have the job started and completed in a matter of a few weeksif not sooner He asked for money up front and we obliged He told us that he did not have access to a truck and asked if we could pick up the paint, so we picked it up and delivered it Early on during the project, we noticed that he did not know what he was doing and I found it odd that he did not have a paint sprayer before he started our job He purchased a used one and it became an excuse for his being late He asked for more money to buy parts for the sprayer, but most of the paint was rolled on As the weeks went on, he did not put many full days in He filled the nail holes using Spackle, rather than Bondo and did not sand those off prior to painting, so there were spots all over our brand new trim When I asked why he did not sand them, he made the excuse that his helper did that and did not offer to fix itBy the end of the third week, he would not come back to complete the job unless we paid him more money I told him that he would need to fix all of the mistakes and finish up the job and I would give him more money We finally gave him all but dollars of what we would owe him for a job complete and then fired him because the repairs that he was making to the trim were making them worse When he left, he dumped paint in the new bathtub, poured paint down the heat vent and painted on the new tile in the bathroom as well as profanities on the wall in that same room Later on, we found out that he had been urinating in the shower drain and had not painted anything that you could not see when looking up into the closets None of the window trim tops were painted and in many places, the casings did not have but a skiff of paint if any I ended up painting the whole house again Took us straight weeks to fix it all We had to sand around every window casing to remove the brush lines that he had not rolled and then paint over them again
It's sad that our 1st new home building experience turned out this way We lost dollars, plus the paint and many hours of labor that it took to fix what you could see I had to pay another painter another dollars to fix the window casings so that they look better, but you can still see the issues under the paint We ended up having to purchase a new front door and have them paint it as well because it was so bad
I would not recommend this guy to anyone By posting this review I hope to prevent this experience from happening to anyone else Beware of this guy
