S & S Driving School

Review: I attended the driving school in 2007. After being homeless & jobless for several years, I contacted the school, when I was able, to inquire on when I could pick up my driving certificate. The woman on the phone said that they have all of the certificates in the computer but not mines. She explained that all the old paperwork had been disposed of but not stored into the computer before disposal. I asked to speak with a manager & she told me he wasn't there. Several other times when I called, I was again told that there was no manager present.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my driving certificate so that I can go to the MVA & receive my drivers license.

We've read your complaint and are going to do the best we can to assist you, but there is information that you need to know before we go any further. Please be aware that we do hold student information, but only for a total of three years. After three years we are required to destroy all student information and paperwork, which includes: applications, MVA Classroom and Behind the Wheel Forms, behind the wheel schedules, all contracts, MVA Driver Evaluations, answer sheets, any worksheets or completion certificates. This explains the reason for us not having your information. Since you attended our driving school in 2007, all information would have been destroyed in 2010. This is a rule administered by the MVA, and a law, and must be followed by all driving school in the state of Maryland. If you have further inquiry on this, please refer to the Maryland State COMAR.

Also, you stated that you paid $500.00 for our Driver's Educational Program. This is highly improbable. In the year of 2007 our prices were $265.00, and for more than five years now our prices have not gone above $317.00.
