I have read about customer complaints about extra costs incurred for fittings. I have Eyemed Insurence. Rx Optical had accepted insurance in full the previous year even for the contact fittings. The following year they did not. They failed to disclose that until the exam was complete and the contacts ordered, even though they looked at the previous years records. Since I am on Medicare and also pay extra for expanded coverage for my wife and myself, I will simply cancel my expanded coverage, saving me $$$, go to an opthalmologist for a thorough exam and order the exact same contacts online. I pay more for the opthalmologist, but more time is taken on the exam and the contacts are from the same company only online. Rx optical used to be better in previous years but is now profit and not patient focused.
