Review: entered into contract on 12.14.14 for repair and installation of chimney caps. Gave check in the amount of $1,034.47 as deposit on $1,200 plus contract. After repeated calls and letter dated 6.11.15, nothing has been done. I will provide copy of letter which more fully describes my problem.Desired Settlement: to get my money back, I have had enough run-a-round.

complaints case #[redacted] matter was resolved return payment on work that was not completed per customers request.
Review: On November 8, 2014 RVA Chimney came to my house and cleaned and repaired my chimney as agreed. However, in addition to those services, I also requested and paid for them to reinstall my chimney cap. I was told that they did not have a ladder long enough to do it that day, but would be back in the next few days. I called them on November 18, 2014 and was again told they would install it in the next few days. I called again on December 11, 2014 and was told it would be installed in the next few days. I texted them on December 17th and again asked that they reinstall my chimney cap. I received a text back on December 18th indicating that they had ordered me a “custom” chimney cap and it was on backorder but should be in within a few days. As a side note, I did not ask for a new cap, I simply wanted them to put mine back on. I have not heard from them again.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to install my chimney cap as agreed.

Revdex.com spoke with Mr.[redacted] from the business. He said that this was not a job that the customer paid for but they were going to go back and re install. However, since a ticket was not made it fell through the lines of communication but the business is going to go out this weekend and take care of this for the customer.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The company’s assertion that the job was not paid for is incorrect. I have provided the receipt to the Revdex.com showing that it was paid for. The company apparently tried to put the cap back on and did not have a sufficiently long ladder and left a note and $50 repayment on my porch. I have sent a check to the company for the $50 because I am still not satisfied with the job and want it completed. The representative indicated that the cap was bent, which was true, but I have bent it back into shape. I understand that the company does not wish to purchase a long enough ladder, which is why I would have expected them to rent one. As a matter of fact there is a[redacted] rental location with 60 foot ladders located less than 3 miles from my house.

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The customer's job was higher than they are covered for and the business refunded the $35 and $15 for not being able to finish the service.

The company stated that they would put the cap back on, which is the primary reason I hired them. I sent them a check for $50 refunding the $50 in cash that they have left on my porch. I want the cap put back on.
