If you’re planning to get from this Hyundai Garden Grove dealership, stop and read this review!!!
I got the car (2017 Hybrid Ford Fusion) on August 15, 2020. The car had a check engine light 12 days after! I was in the middle of I-22 when the scary red triangular warning “Stop Safely Now” appeared and the speed dropped to 40 miles per hour. In the middle of the freeway! Took the car back to them, all they said is “it happens, the car is a used one” and they advised us to take the car to Ford since it is still covered by a warranty. I got the car back one week after (September 3) and drove it again. But then it broke down again 8 days after!! The same warning came out but this time it was so much scarier – on the I-5; it happened at 10:30 pm and I was 50 miles away from home! Cops came to protect me from a possible sideswipe as I was on the breakdown lane, placed reflectorized triangles and stayed with me until Triple A arrived to tow the car and my boyfriend came to pick me up. The day after, I tried to communicate this to Hyundai Garden Grove, and all I heard from Sales Manager Robert (they won’t give me the last name) was “well, you bought the car as is.” I HAVE NOT EVEN MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT YET. He said he was not even apologetic. Yes, I was a bit emotional (I was crying, all things considered), but if I heard the word sorry I might have been pacified.
I talked to a Consumer Rights / Lemon Law Firm and they said we can file a case. It could be a long, strenuous one, but we can. I just need to get the name of the person I talked to. I called again, talked to a Javier and he would not give me Robert’s last name, and just calmly told me to let my lawyer talk to theirs. That was when I figured that these guys are so used to a lawsuit. I checked their reviews and saw that they do have hundreds of bad reviews.
Even the sales process was horrendously stressful with these people. After we looked at the car the first time and gave them our offer, they texted us to come back because they agreed to the amount. When we got there, they tried all kinds of schemes to get you to pay more…up until the signing of the contract (which happened almost 4 hours after we arrived), they continuously attempted to put all kinds of add-ons.
I do understand the process, though, because I guess that is part of car sales training – do everything you can to squeeze more from your customer. I can understand that. But to sell a car that would break down within days of the actual sale and not be sympathetic to your customer’s cause is INEXCUSABLE, INHUMAN, IMMORAL and a downright insult to U.S. BUSINESS ETHICS, HYUNDAI business ethics, HYUNDAI MOTOR FINANCE business ethics, RUSSELL WESTBROOK business ethics.
So please do not even think about dealing with these people.
Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Garden Grove has falsely advertised a vehicle on *** for a price of $11,000. I found an ad on ***.com in which a 2018 Hyundai Elantra SEL (VIN: ***) was advertised (and as of this very moment is still being advertised) for the price of $11,000. I drove down, test drove the vehicle and agreed to pay the advertised price of $11,000. They verbally agreed that the out the door price would be $11525 then had me wait around for many hours and then pulled a bait and switch scam by telling me the out the door price would be $14,879! They stated that none of the "optional features" were included in the $11,000 price. I asked them to remove all of the optional features and honor the listed price on the online ad and our verbal agreement . They said that would mean tearing the whole car apart because the optional features are part of the car. He told me to read the fine print on the ad which said that he can charge extra for any of the optional features above the vehicles "base" price. I informed him that I would pay the advertised price and that the vehicles window sticker clearly showed the items he was trying to charge extra for are INCLUDED in the base price. He refused to sell me the vehicle for the advertised price. I told him that he was perpetrating a "bait and switch" and the dealership was falsely advertising the price of the vehicle and told him I wanted to speak directly to the owner/general manager of the dealership. He said I could not speak with his boss or anyone else higher.
THIS COMPLAINT IS NOT AGAINST HYUNDAI IN ANYWAY. IT IS AGAINST THE PEOPLE THAT WORK AT THIS PLACE. THEY COMPLETELY LIE TO YOUR FACE, YELL AT YOU BEING THE CUSTOMER, AND IN NO WAY CARE. I HAD ON 12/22/19 TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. USUALLY TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM YOU WOULD THINK WOULD ONLY TAKE A COUPLE DAYS, NO NOT HERE IT TOOK 28 DAYS! THEY CONTINUALLY TOLD ME HOW IT WAS MY FAULT IT TOOK THEM SO LONG DUE TO A BREATHALYZER IN MY CAR. MY CAR HAD WENT IN AT 33,360 AND WENT OUT AT 33,362. THEY HAD SAID HOW TECHNICIAN TOOK CAR OUT TO DRIVE TO DUPLICATE MY PROBLEMS BUT ONLY WENT 2 MILES. THEY THEN SAID THEY ONLY HAD TO PLUG A MACHINE INTO THE CAR TO SEE IF ANY CODES WERE POPPING UP. IT WAS ALL A LIE FROM DAY 1! ALL THEY HAD TO WAS PLUG IN READER BUT THAT TOOK 28 DAYS? THEN I HAD A RENTAL THROUGH THEM WHICH WOULD BE FREE AS LONG AS A WARRANTY ISSUE WAS INVOLVED, THAT IS FIN EAND EVERYTHING BUT FOR 28 DAYS OUT OF POCKET AT $40 DOLLARS A DAY IN INSANE. THEY ALSO LIED IN HOW THEY PUT $20 IN MY GAS TANK ANOTHER LIE WHEN I HAD TAKEN MY CAR IT HAD 0 MILES LEFT TO DRIVE NOT ONLY THAT THEN I HAD THE "SERVICE MANAGER SCREAMING AT ME THAT HE WAS GOING TO REPORT MY RENTAL CAR STOLEN DUE TO ME GETTING DIFFERENT INFORMATION. THERE WAS SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS SERVICE TEAM AND THE DEALERSHIP ITSELF ITS INSANE. I THEN PROCEEDED TO CALL AND TALK TO THE GENERAL MANAGER, NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! I HAD CALLED 2 DIFFERENT TIMES LEFT VM'S STILL NO ANSWER. I HAD HAD IT I CALLED HYUNDAI CORPORATE. THEY WERE AMAZING THEMSEVES, BUT THIS DEALERSHIP IS RIDICULOUS, BECAUSE THEY THINK I DONT HAVE AN IDEA WHEN IM BEING LIED TO IT WAS OK TO LIE AND KEEP ME PAYING FOR A CAR FOR 28 DAYS. THEY HAD DECIDED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR ON THE 2ND OF JANUARY IN TURN NO REACHED OUT TO ME UNTIL THE 10TH OF JANUARY.
Thank you
I went to the Garden Grove Hyundai dealership on Oct 6, 2019 to purchase a vehicle. I went back the next day to complete the purchase. Later that day the dealership had two persons dropped the vehicle off in front of our home. After discussing the purchase with my boyfriend, he felt that I had been taken advantage of because they (Dale, General Manager and Dillion, Manager) instructed me to just leave my other vehicle to be repossessed from in front of my house. Evidently, they did not want to payoff my vehicle. This request would cause me to have a bad credit reporting. I have since contacted the individuals mentioned above and told them that I have not sat in the car or moved it since they dropped it off. I'm concerned because I do not want any tickets due to our street sweepers coming on Tuesdays. How can persons at this place of business tell customers to take that sort of actions. Is this not poor business practices ?
01 / 31 / 2019 Appox around 3 pm I was driving my 2017 Elantra Limited that I purchase used from Hyundai of Garden Grove on 08 / 24 / 2018 it had been raining
Hard and the streets were flooded as I crossed the intersection I herd this scrapping sound and the wheel was making noise I pulled over in the rain and upon inspecting the the undercarriage there was a cover from my car dragging under the wheels I called the dealer and they told me to drive it over to them I told them it was undrivabke , I called my dad and he had it towed to the dealer , latter that day the service department called and I was informed that the repairs were in the amount of $1380 and it would be a day or two for the part , upon recovering the car from the serivice department my Dad & I were told that an inspection cover came off in the front and folded under the car ,, my dad told the service manager that they should pay fine the repairs , the service manager then explained that it was my fault ? My fault was when I put my new born in the car seat or when I put gas in the car , now as I’m having this conversation my Dad notices a Eluntra being drivin out of the service area , he reach under the front bumper and felt that the inspection cover was installed under the front bumper , minutes before the service manager explained how the inspection cove came off and folded under my new car he said that I crash the the car and the inspection cover came out of the inside of the front bumpe , there’s not a mark anywhere in my car indicatng this explanation , my dad took a photo of that Elantra that had been serviced with the inspection cover reinstalled under the bumper not inside the bumper , it was only after talking later that my information and my Dad gave the real picture Garden Grove Hyundai installed the inspection cover ,under the bumper and as I drove thru the flooded intersection the force of the water pulled it off as it worked as a scoop
I went into get some service done on my Genesis and was surprised all the wonderful service folks had been replaced by these unfriendly and moody staff with no apparent joy for working at this awful place. This childish behaving piece of crap got into argument with me rather than to hear my concern. I learned that was their service manager that told me to get out of his office. He told me to leave the dealership because he did not know how to handle a gruntled customer. Does the owner of this dealership know this guy tells people to take our business elsewhere? And you wonder why this dealership gets one star ratings only.
I was charged an extra $1000 on my purchase agreement when I was told and have copies of my final buy out saying I owed $17,237.50 with no extra fees but Amin (the dealer) listed the price as $18, 237.50! When I asked about the difference in the amount, Amin said the extra included my last car payments because he verified how much I still owed but…. on Tuesday 2/26/19, I received a letter from Hyundai Finance saying I still owed $373.00 for returning the car, which I didn’t return, I bought out my lease. Hyundai Finance went on to say Amin (the dealer) stated on the paperwork sent to Hyundai Finance, I had returned the vehicle. Now they say I need to get a Bill of Sale from the dealership to take off my last payment.
I called Amin the next day and he said he would call me back but hasn’t. I then called the GM, Mark and left a message and he hasn’t called me back. I then replied to a text from the Director of Customer Experience, Rob and he has returned my text.
Dealer and I agreed on a sales price. When contract was sign they had written down a different price.
was told they installed a GPS tracking device on my new Santa Fe Sport and charged me $1000.00 for it but never gave me any info on how to use app. I have contacted them and was told they would send me info and someone would call me. Its been about a month now and still nothing. I will see if it was even installed on my vehicle. Buyer beware.
