Rural Gas Company, Inc.

Review: Rural Gas Company installed a propane tank at my house in 2008. I did not sign up with them to be my propane supplier and in fact signed up with my heating oil provider to deliver propane. Out of the blue, they filled my tank in September, 2013 and billed me. I called them on September 13, 2013 and spoke to [redacted]. I told her that I was not their customer and it was their error. She insisted that I should pay the bill and the most that she would offer was to pay the rate of my current supplier. I reiterated that it was their error and asked to speak with a supervisor. She said someone would call me back but never did. One month later, I received another bill so called again and spoke with [redacted] who told me the same thing. Apparently they have come yearly and checked the tank only to find it full. They have never called or left a note. In contrast, my current provider recently came and found the tank full and left a note to that effect. I reluctantly paid the bill, but am now continuing to receive additional bills with finance charges. I am aghast at the poor customer service at this company and their refusal to cancel a charge for propane that I never ordered and they delivered without my knowledge or approval.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund my payment of $40.18 and apologize for their error.
