I would only give this company 1 star. We had a pipe burst on the 2nd floor of our home, causing water damage to the first floor. The crew from this company that did the tear out and clean up of the water damage was great, but we could not get the other half of the company to come out for the restoration work. The restoration crew came out to our home and looked at the work that needed to be done and never got back with the estimate. We have been calling for 2 weeks asking about the estimate, and they keep giving excuses why they didn't get back with us. They say we will get it to you by tomorrow, again and again. Very disappointed.
COMPLETE HORROR STORY - YOUR SAFETY MATTERS!
The multitude of problems continue to build due to RUMPKE’s incompetency, due negligence but I felt it is my duty to tell this important fact.
The first time my house passed the post remediation test I was told it was safe to stay at the house. The foundation and other leaks had Still not been repaired but I could move back home. I immediately started with the severe headaches, disorientation and bloody noses ... I stayed 3 days then I told them test or not the house was still sick. A month later while I was still living in a hotel, my neighbor discovered that after Rumpke did the tearout, Their employees had never reattached the venting (which I questioned many times) and that carbon monoxide was leaking from my water heater. The city flagged my utilities and turned off my gas. I had to hire a licensed HVAC company to repair their negligence. Rumpke refused to even deduct my additional expense among many others from my bill They still refuse to take responsibility for this. I could have and most certainly would have died!!!
Don't be Fooled by Kindness!!! I hired Rumpke Restoration when sickening levels of toxic mold, bacteria and fungi were discovered growing in my basement in January. I had not worked in years with a multitude of undiagnosed physical and mental illnesses. Extensive damage and contamination were due to water leaking behind my paneling from leaking windows, several foundation issues, as well as leaking from a broken seal below my front door and entry steps. Unknowingly the mold had been growing for years and I didn't know until my washing machine flooded the basement again. I attempted to clean it myself, however I discovered the job was much too big for me and needed to call professionals! When I called Matt at Rumpke, he was great and appeared knowledgeable and comfortingly compassionate. Matt explained the process and I set up a contract for remediation but not a "rebuild" in the basement. I was told it would take 3 or 4 weeks. My insurance company was not paying the claim because the policy explicitly did not cover Any cost due to mold damage, remediation, replacement costs or any of living expenses incurred while away from home. I WAS OUT OF MY HOUSE FOR OVER 3 MONTHS NOT weeks as promised. The house is still leaking. The asbestos tiles came loose from running the air scrubbers and dehumidifiers for months which dried out all tiles …. I have had added expenses well exceeding RUMPKE's original bill with no help from them ? I have had to hire new contractors to re- repair RUMOKE and their contractors, sub-sub contractors terrible wor I didn't want to rebuild or remodel my basement but I was promised by Matt that I would have a healthy home when they were done and I still don't :(
