Manufacture problem with furniture [redacted] said to bring it in Warranty does not cover out of town I had no contract [redacted] was rude. manager no call Furniture bought Dec7 [redacted]. I told [redacted] (sales rep), that I had no one to help me, I would need delivery.Once I was putting things in the dresser, nightstand, chest, storage table, drawers opening crooked on dresser & storage table. Some drawers would not closed unless pushed in with too much pressure. One drawer on the dresser is scraping on the wood inside. Wood shavings on the track. One drawer on the dresser is about 1/8 to 1/4 in higher than the other side. I phoned Ruff's I don't remember the exact date , spoke to [redacted] he said he would get somebody out to look at the furniture. I phone him a day or two after, I told [redacted] to hold back as I was purchasing a washer, dryer and deep freeze because they would be delivered , they could check the furniture when they came so they wouldn't have to make two trips. Due to illness I wasn't able to go to Yorkton to purchase the appliances just right then, and they could come out and check the furniture anytime that was convenient for them. He said they don't come out of town to check the furniture and that I would have to bring it in. That is not what he told me the first conversation he said he'd send someone out to look at it and he did not tell me when I purchased the furniture. [redacted]. So, "I said, anyone that is out of town doesn't have warranty unless they bring it in themselves. He says "Yes", I told him that I would not have purchased it because I had no way of getting it home. He [redacted] said"[redacted] are you saying we shouldn't sell furniture outside of Yorkton?" "That was not what I said" so I repeated that I had no one to help me and you knew that when I bought it" "Well,, your still going to have to pick it up, bring it in, have someone pick it up from here and have it delivered back to you." I said " [redacted] you knew I had no one to help me and I still have the washer, dryer, deep freeze, chesterfield & chair, coffee table and end tables" [redacted] He said that he would have the manager call me and hung up. That was two weeks ago Feb 17th. No phone call. No phone call. No phone call. I phone Consumer Affairs, they sent forms but want more of an effort to speak to the manager-owner and the manufacturer in Surrey B.C. who also said to talk to manager. Well, he never returns my calls. I paid by [redacted] payment card. I did phoned a delivery business in Yorkton and asked how much that would cost me to do that and he quoted minimum $700. I'm sure that it is something that can be fixed as I like all the furniture.Desired SettlementI would appreciate a call from the owner-manager so we could try and resolve this. What I need is someone from there to come out and check the furniture and fix it. One of the drivers who delivered the furniture is a finishing carpenter. There is no one in this vicinity to get to do the repairs. I don't feel that I should have to pay $700 or more to get ti back to Yorkton. I wasn't given a contract stating that they do not do repairs out of town.Business Response I have been in contact with the customer to assess what parts may be needed to have the pieces in mention functioning properly. I will keep in contact with customer to update her on the ordered parts. This could take 2 to 3 weeks for parts to arrive. We will then arrange a time and date to have our service tech come out and do repairs to the furniture. The customer and myself had a pleasant conversation and we are fully prepared to work with them to ensure their needs are meet and the end results are favorable.
