Ruffs and Relaxation

Review: On November 14, 2013, my dogwalking service did not secure my front door, which led to my home alarm system activating. [redacted] said the alarm went off within a couple minutes of being armed, so there is no question that the dogwalker simply had not closed the front door securely. The police arrived on the scene and [redacted] relayed that my front door was standing wide open. Thankfully I have a storm door that actually was closed tightly or my 2 dogs would have been gone. I'm also thankful that I have an alarm service, otherwise my front door would have stood open for hours, not only skyrocketing my heating bill, leaving my animals at risk to get out, but also leaving my house open and inviting for anyone who so chose to walk in. Regardless of all of those scary "what-ifs," my complaint with this company is that the City of [redacted] assessed me with a $35 civil penalty for responding to a false alarm activation, and Ruffs and Relaxation somehow deems it appropriate to only pay $18 toward the fee even though their negligence is the only reason the fee was incurred.Desired Settlement: It is my stance that Ruffs and Relaxation pay the entire $35 alarm fee.
