April 10, 2015Alexis does not normally do any maintenance until there is a problemAny rational person would have had the system looked at as soon as problem showed upThe approximate date of service was 7/30/At that time both zones were working as both return piping and baseboards
were hot, Our work was done on the 1st floor only, but all zones were checkedAnyone who owns a hydronic system knows air can show up at any time in a system.2014-winter was the coldest winter in 20+ yearsOur company fixed over systems that had frozen pipesMany frozen pipes occurred with boiler running properly, Levittown homes are 70+ years old and poorly insulated and original piping poorly run through attics,
We were called out to fix a 15+ year old heater that was attempted to be fixed by a relative or friend who had absolutely no heating experienceWe fixed initial problems that were directly related to neglect on unitDuring that time there were several other issues, small issues that would eventually cause failure or problems and this was brought to homeowner’s attentionShe was not coerced in any way and was told repairs could wait but she chose to completeShe was given a flat price to complete repairsShe asked us during scheduling process how long it would take as she was planning a wedding and someone would need to be home to let us inIt took approximately % hours to do jobAs the repair went SmoothlyShe was not being billed by hour and thought she was paying for hours of laborShe was given a timeslot of hours and a price to repair job regardless if it took hoursHer relative or friend had attempted to fix once before so why are we getting blamed? Conclusion: Heater was repaired in July Piping on 2nd floor burst around 1/22/2015, we worked only on 1st floorHomeowner was given flat price to repair with no exceptions on how long job took, so there was no variables, it cost this much periodWe had the coldest winter in 20+ years and her pipes burstHer complaint was 1/22/So “she” let her upstairs not be heated for almost monthsThen when there is a problem, she has to blame someoneShe had a day warranty on the repairBut probably had the same relative or friend try and fix and againWe “did not” leave a valve closedSystem was tested on start upShe needs to accept the fact this failed and the mess that she had was due to extreme weather and the “fact” she let the system run for months when she knew upstairs was not working, Shame on her to blame anyone but herself
