Review: Apartment security deposit of $610 plus $100 of pet deposit was not refunded after extensive cleaning and leaving the apartment in better condition than we found it. Our understanding was that if we left the apartment in better condition than we found it we would be refunded our deposits minus a $75 carpet cleaning fee.Following a week of cleaning, the landlord ([redacted]) and I walked through the apartment together about May 14th. The landlord seemed very impressed with the cleaning done on the apartment noting only one repair on a wall costing $20.After the landlord had the carpet cleaned, he accused our cat of peeing on the carpet. However, I know that this never occurred. The landlord refused to refund the security deposit, claiming the money was used to replace the entire carpet.
