I recently used RS Miles and Son Roofing to do some roof repairsOnce the work order was completed, I asked the Project Manager if they accepted credit cardsHe answered no I was baffled but still proceeded to pay for the initial visit with a checkOn the day of the repairs, I again asked about using a credit card and was told that they did not take them I checked their website and lo and behold, not only did they accept credit cards, they specified which ones they would take I called the office and relayed this informationI again received conflicting informationThe work was performed And I asked if I could pay by credit cardI was instructed to call the office They proceeded to tell me I would have to pay an additional charge beyond what was quotedI later found out that this was the merchants fee they were passing off to me After a lengthy chat with the owner, I let them know I did not appreciate being told they did not accept credit cards when their website clearly states that they do Additionally for all the money paid to do less than an hours work, the fee should have been part of the small roof repair bundled cost To me this is a matter of fair disclosureIf I did not have the money in my account, I would have to pay $additional that I was not aware of Somehow this seems deceptive and unfair to the consumer and I want to let other unsuspecting customers know
I recently used RS Miles and Son Roofing to do some roof repairs. Once the work order was completed, I asked the Project Manager if they accepted credit cards. He answered no. I was baffled but still proceeded to pay for the initial visit with a check. On the day of the repairs, I again asked about using a credit card and was told that they did not take them. I checked their website and lo and behold, not only did they accept credit cards, they specified which ones they would take. I called the office and relayed this information. I again received conflicting information. The work was performed And I asked if I could pay by credit card. I was instructed to call the office. They proceeded to tell me I would have to pay an additional charge beyond what was quoted. I later found out that this was the merchants fee they were passing off to me. After a lengthy chat with the owner, I let them know I did not appreciate being told they did not accept credit cards when their website clearly states that they do. Additionally for all the money paid to do less than an hours work, the fee should have been part of the small roof repair bundled cost. To me this is a matter of fair disclosure. If I did not have the money in my account, I would have to pay $30 additional that I was not aware of. Somehow this seems deceptive and unfair to the consumer and I want to let other unsuspecting customers know.
