Review: I purchased a vintage Singer sewing machine from this seller (through [redacted]). The machine was advertised as "running good"[sic]. When I received the machine, it was not, in fact, running. After posting a description of the issue I was having while threading the machine on a forum specifically for vintage sewing machine enthusiasts with pictures of the part where problems were occurring, several expert users identified the problem. There was a small part broken off of the hook assembly mechanism. One kind user then posted photos of what that part should look like. This was all within 1 hour of my having received the machine via UPS delivery. I then opened an [redacted] dispute as one is instructed to do if one receives an item that is not in the condition in which it was advertised. I took the machine to a repair shop and ended up ordering a replacement part (also from [redacted]) to be shipped directly to the repair shop (to save time). The estimate for the parts and labor for the repair was $60-$65. As the machine is not able to function without this repair (I could not even get past the stage of threading the machine. Not one single stitch could be attempted.), the machine should have been advertised/listed as 'for parts or repair' rather than as 'running good'[sic]. The seller ignored my dispute for 4 days and then proceeded to heckle me, calling me a liar, cheat and thief. (S)he offered me a $40 refund to 'make me happy'. I did not accept as the full repair cost should have been covered. (S)he then proceeded to berate me belligerently and rudely and told me to send the machine back, paying shipping myself and, if (s)he was satisfied, (s)he would refund me the purchase price. Meaning, they were telling me to pay $80 (two-way shipping) to have NO MACHINE at all. I obviously did not accept this 'offer'. [redacted] customer service is now deciding the dispute. However, I wanted to lodge my complaint with the Revdex.com so that this seller will hopefully not continue to abuse customers in this way.Desired Settlement: I have just received the final repair cost from the repair shop: $39.95 for labor. I ordered the part myself and paid $30. Therefore, the seller should refund me $69.95 of the original purchase price ($170.50).I can provide receipts for both the parts and labor. The repair shop will confirm on the receipt that the machine was NOT IN WORKING ORDER.

Response:
This item was shipped in good running condition while I was on
vacation. Our service man has been doing this for 30 years & he
checked it out & said it was OK I believe him.Now this is a 60 year
old machine maybe the said part was weak & broke when she tried it
or in shipping Unlike a local customer we could not look at the item
when she said it was broke & if something was wrong took care of
it.Calling me dishonest really really up sets me.There was no message
from her in my email box (not [redacted]) while I was gone anything sent to
[redacted] would have been there.any message sent after she opened a case
would have stayed in case file. Therefore I did not know there was a
problem until my return & went back on [redacted].
