We contacted RPL for installing a gas furnace in Apr. 2016. RPL presented a quote, see the attachment, which states clearly“There is a $600.00 rebate from [redacted] paid directly to the homeowner for installation of hi Effiency furnace.” On Sep. **, 2016, we contacted RPL for starting the installation and received the following message:“Hi this is mike from RPL I was going over your quote to see if I can offer you any discounts I saw that the quote was from April pre boiler season. I checked the price of the equipment and there was a price increase however I will honor the quote.”Furthermore, Mike from RPL told us over the phone that the [redacted]) rebate has increased to $1000, which is eligible for furnace installation completed by Oct. **, 2016.After negotiation, RPL and we agreed on the amount of $8250. When we signed the agreement, RPL even gave us a [redacted] Rebate Application Form and informed us again that we would receive the [redacted] $1000 rebate if the installation were completed by Oct. **, 2016. However RPL never let us know that the furnace (RPL recommended) does not satisfy [redacted]’s rebate requirements (a high efficiency gas furnace with ECM fans). We were frustrated by RPL in the furnace installation:1. RPL misled us about the [redacted] rebate2. RPL violated the original agreement and overcharged $900 for the installation. Right before [redacted] installed the gas meter, RPL charged us $900 for piping for the meter. We were forced to pay or left with no heating in cold weather.3. RPL did not fulfill the original agreement. The agreement clearly states that the furnace model is “[redacted]”. However RPL installed a model of [redacted]”. Up to today, Jan. *, 2017, RPL has not informed us about this.
