The client is a returning client from the previous year The clients taxes were prepared for and reviewed by the clientIt was approved for electronic submission by signature after reviewing the documents The clients returns were rejected by the IRS as the child dependent had been claimed by another party The client was called and informed of such The client contacted the mother of the child and determined that the child had been filed on the mothers tax returns This had not been the case for the previous year the client filed with us The child was removed from the clients filing reducing his refund as the child credits were no longer available to him The client felt that because he was not able to claim the child his bill should be reduced Unfortunately the work had been done and paper work submitted The result of removing the child from the prepared taxes resulted in our office resubmitting the corrected tax returns to the IRS causing more work not less Because the client was a returning client Mr [redacted] felt as though he would help the client as a result of the ex-spouse claiming the child and lowering his refund Mr [redacted] agreed to lower the bill for his work and refund a portion to the client in good faith Working with any credit card company and bank there is no guarantee of when the funds would be available When the client called this was explained We are under no obligation to refund any portion of the bill for our services per our signed work agreement (copies of signed agreement can be made available) However a kind gesture was offered to a returning client It is unfortunate that it is not being seen as such In the spirit of good business we are refunding the client in full We have contacted our credit card company and requested the entire amount of $be refunded

The client is a returning client from the previous year. The clients taxes were prepared for 2017 and reviewed by the client. It was approved for electronic submission by signature after reviewing the documents. The clients returns were rejected by the IRS as the child dependent had been...
claimed by another party. The client was called and informed of such. The client contacted the mother of the child and determined that the child had been filed on the mothers tax returns. This had not been the case for the previous year the client filed with us. The child was removed from the clients filing reducing his refund as the child credits were no longer available to him. The client felt that because he was not able to claim the child his bill should be reduced. Unfortunately the work had been done and paper work submitted. The result of removing the child from the prepared taxes resulted in our office resubmitting the corrected tax returns to the IRS causing more work not less. Because the client was a returning client Mr [redacted] felt as though he would help the client as a result of the ex-spouse claiming the child and lowering his refund. Mr. [redacted] agreed to lower the bill for his work and refund a portion to the client in good faith. Working with any credit card company and bank there is no guarantee of when the funds would be available. When the client called this was explained. We are under no obligation to refund any portion of the bill for our services per our signed work agreement (copies of signed agreement can be made available). However a kind gesture was offered to a returning client. It is unfortunate that it is not being seen as such. In the spirit of good business we are refunding the client in full. We have contacted our credit card company and requested the entire amount of $267.01 be refunded.
