Review: [redacted] & I purchased a model 6300 Ark Royal outside wood boiler through one of their distributor Wood Doctors on Nov, 29th, 2012 for $7900.
Unit was delivered on Dec, 3rd, 2012 by Lakeville Motor Express. (Bill of Lading # [redacted])
The boiler was delivered minus the ash tray but other than that functioned fine.
In Jan of 2013, the boiler experienced an over temp situation causing damage to the PEX hot water supply line to the in floor heating grid in the shop.
After replacing the damaged PEX tubing for a cost of $300, I provided the labor at no cost. I discovered that the underling cause of the over temp issues was a defective / sticking magnetic draft induction fan door actuator. The actuator would stick in the open position allowing the fire in the boiler to continue at a higher level than what was called for by the heating system thermostat. The company literature claims this is a positive shut off assembly, but is is really a positive open and just relies on gravity to close draft door. So when the actuator fails you have the real possibility for over temp and system damage.
I contacted the president of Ark Alloy [redacted] by both e-mail and in person on the phone and was assured the missing ash tray and a warranty replacement actuator would be ship to me N/C.
I sent a e-mail in April as a followup to the the latest conversation with [redacted]
I sent yet another e-mail from last week which has gone un-answered.Desired Settlement: Originally all I was looking for was the missing ash tray and replacement actuator.
The $300 out of my pocket to repair the collateral system damage was not part of the conversation.
Now however, seeing the company has trouble following through on their word and warranty.
I'd like to see them send me the promised parts and cover the cost of the PEX tubing do to a design flaw.
When you consider the unit cost $7900 , I don't think I'm out of line asking for 3% back.
I have copies of all e-mails and receipts if required.

Review: Ark Alloy LLC has a division of their company named Windspire. They manufacture Windspire vertical axis wind turbines in Reedsburg, WI. I have been an authorized/trained dealer in Colorado for Windspire Energy and asked to purchase a new 1.2kW VWAT in Oct. 2013. In Dec 2013, Windspire sent a used turbine with over 200 hrs of operation on it, rust on the base pole and they did not send the proper parts (parts list documented) necessary for the installation to be completed during the first service call. In addition, the inverter did not operate at all and had a sticker on it from 2009. As a result, my company had to make a second service call in January 2013 to a site over 250miles from base. The second inverter they sent did not work either and was an old product. There was no UL sticker on the inverter and the weld hold on their hinged base plate cracked putting the client and installer in danger. As a result, a third service call had to be made in April 2014 and my company billed Windspire for that service call. As of September 2, 2014 Windspire (Ark Alloy, LLC) has chosen not respond to numerous of our phone calls, and emails where we asked to be paid for that third service call and invoice. They simply do not have any working knowledge of how their product works or should be manufactured and they offer zero customer or dealer support. We do not recommend this product and will not carry it in our line of turbines any longer.Desired Settlement: Colorado Land Art Studio, Inc. expects to be paid for the service call we had to make as a result of Windspire's faulty products and numerous shipping errors. Windspire ([redacted] is not taking any responsibility for their product and will not pay our invoice of $866.80 nor do they respond to any of our requests for payment.
