filed a complaint regarding our portion sizes and prices. Our restaurant is a family style restaurant with generous portion sizes. This is to allow families to share, or to give single diners the opportunity to take food home for a future meal. It is our belief that generous portion sizes help diners feel that they “got their money’s worth” – this feeling of money-well-spent usually inclines any consumer to return for future business. No one would appreciate a business if they feel like they were taken advantage of, or if the portion sizes were skimpy. The corresponding prices to all meals are clearly printed on our menu. If someone is not willing to pay the corresponding price for the item they want, then that person would normally choose another item, or worst case scenario, leave. The final bill should be no surprise, since every diner has freedom to choose which meal they order off of the menu.It is our current practice that if a diner orders a particular meal, then that meal is what is served. If a diner asks us for a recommendation, then we will guide them based on a meal’s popularity. If a diner asks us the size of the meal, then we will do our best to portray it. However, knowing that many of our diners often order with leftovers in mind, our waiters and waitresses do not question what or how much one orders. In light of the fact that this diner ordered 3 items and ate some of each, this was a normal, routine customer. The diner was served good food, what was ordered, charged the stated price, and asked to pay the tab. In response to the complaint, Royal Mandarin will offer a full refund. Please bring in the debit/credit card used, in order to process the refund. Sincerely,[redacted]
Review: SO I WALKED IN FOR LUNCH, NEVER EAT THERE BEFORE. I WAS ALK IF I HAVE HAD HELP, I TOLD HIM NO BUT NEED A TABLE FOR ONE. SO HE SAT ME DOWN AND A LADY CAME UP AND TOOK MY ORDER. I DID LET HER KNOW IT WAS ONLY ME AND THAT I NEEDED A PLATE FOR ONLY ME. I ORDER RICE CHIKEN AND NODDLES. SO WHEN I GET THE FOOD THERE IS WAY TO MUCH. YOU CAN FEED A FAMILY OF FIVE WITH IT. SO I WAS HER AT ONE POINT IF SHE HAD A SMALLER ONE JUST FOR ONE PERSON. SHE SAID YES AND TOLD ME I CAN JUST TAKE WHAT I DONT EAT HOME. SO I HAS TO TLAK TO HER MANAGER AND TOLD HER I DID NOT ASK FOR THESE MUCH FOOD NOR NEEDED IT. SHE WENT ON TO TELL ME THE SAME THING. SO I DECIDED TO TAKE UP THE MATTER AT THAT POINT TO THE DESK WERE I HAD TO PAY AND TOLD HER ONES MORE THAT IT WAS NOT FAIR THAT I ASK FOR A MEAL FOR JUST ONE PERSON. SO SHE TELLS ME ITS MY FAULT BECAUSE THE PRICESS ARE ON THE MENU EVEN I TOLD HER THAT THE LADY THAT TOOK MY ORDER I HAD ASK HER TO SERVE ME FOR JUST ONE PERSON AND IF THERE WAS A MAIL LIKE THAT. I THINK ITS BAD THAT THEY MADE ME PAY FOR A MEAL FOR 5 PEOPLE EVEN WHEN I ASK TO MAKE ME A PLATE FOR JUST ME.Desired Settlement: SINCE THEY DID NOT WANNA LISING TO ME AT ALL I DESERVE A FULL RERUND OF MY MONEY.
