Mr***, We take these matters seriously and have investigated this issue thoroughly. I personally spoke directly with the foreman on the job. In addition, we happened to have had an operations manager onsite the day the incident occurred; who went into the basement, inspected the
condition of the pipe, and reported it as rusted through and in extremely poor conditionWe train our crews to be accountable for their actions and their only ramification for reporting a claim is additional training. Conversely, failure to disclose an incident like this is grounds for the crew member's termination. In effect, there is a strong incentive for our employees to be forthcoming. I would also note that by reporting this issue to the relevant parties, it sounds as though a potentially worse flooding incident was averted by our crew.
