Purchased a used Dodge charger from Rte 130 Dodge yesterday. We agreed to a purchase price of $33,295 PLUS an extended warranty of $995 = $34,290.
By the time Sean the finance guy came out with the paperwork everyone in the building was gone besides us, Sean and one other worker. The purchase price was listed on the contract paperwork was $34,999. That was NOT what we all agreed to! They slid an extra $709 in there. I told Sean to call the manager Chris (who made the deal with us and had left to go home). Chris said it was some dealer prep fee. That was never disclosed or agreed upon. When we told Sean this, he called Chris back. Chris’s response to us was: "We don’t want any problems. If you don’t want the car, then don’t take it.” WOW! What kind of response is that? They already had moved our trade-in somewhere and had taken the tags off it. And we transferred the insurance to the new car. EVERYONE in the dealership was gone for the night besides us and Sean! How were we supposed to leave in the vehicle we came in??
Total bait and switch - forcing us to take the new vehicle under duress (shop was closed and we had no other recourse).
My wife and I tried reaching out to one of the owners, Frank *** (3 phone calls). No reply. These owners have already had legal problems with the attorney general for Consumer Fraud. Looks like their team is at it again.
Went back today to get some resolution. They told me that the $700 was mentioned which of course was an absolute lie. They tried offering me a $400 refund. Said I could pick it up when the plates come in.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
They actually gave my husband the refund check of $709 yesterday (made him sign some release form) and they supplied us with copies of all the paperwork. I think this complaint is basically resolved (although I do have some questions on the paperwork – but I think I can handle that with the dealership).
