I scheduled one hour service for cleaning my kitchen sink clog on Oct.15. The first worker came to my house, using drain snake, but it didn't work. He said the snake was too short and called another worker to bring a long snake. The long one didn't work either. They tried many times. At the end they charged me $505.50, and told me to pay another $500 for next step. I told them I need second opinion. I called to another company. A plumber went to my house. He used drain snake first, but he couldn't drive it into the pipe, so he changed to another tool(pressure washer). He cleaned my sink drain in one hour. He charged me $380, the $80 is for repairing the pipe the ROTO-ROOTER workers did. They cut them for cleaning. The ROTO-ROOTER charged me first hour $232.75 ($40 discount) was reasonable. The second hour $272.75 was unfair. The workers worked hard, but no experience. I do not think they did a professional job. I request a refund. $272.75(second hour) + $ 80 (repairing pipe)
Thank you for the opportunity to respond. After receiving the complaint from Revdex.com dated 10/18/18, we called the customer using the tele. # they provided. We left a message requesting a return call. Roto-Rooter is sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, Roto-Rooter's management is aware of the service order Monday night. A discount of least one hour of drain labor was approved after spending nearly 4 hours at the property. Roto-Rooter offered to dispatch a mustang jetter (pressure washer). Customer declined stating they wanted a 2nd opinion. Roto-Rooter acknowledged their preference. It is our aim to the resolve the matter to the customer's satisfaction. They have expressed a way Roto-Rooter can do so, and we appreciate it though we will need a copy of the other plumber's invoice. Please have it sent to my desk line (*** or by email to [email protected]
The customer's feedback is valuable. Roto-Rooter will address the shortfall they describe with our field and office staff and make corrections.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I didn't have invoice. It is a very small company. I gave them the copy of the check I paid to ***. Roto-rooter said they will look over the
solution I propose. I am waiting for their response. Sincerely
This branch is as over priced as most plumbers. When you charge a lot for your service you should provide something of value they do not. The first serviceman was a very nice young man who did not know what he was doing after 2 hours the leak was not fixed but he had a bill for me saying he needed parts and would return the next day. A different plumber showed up the next day, not as young or nice but equally unskilled, he had no idea what his coworker had done or intended to do. 1 1/2 hours and a lot of profanity later I still had a leak and he had another bill for me to pay he said he needed some tools and would return. Frustrated and fed up when he did not return. I was assured by a patronizing secretary that some would be out to fix the problem. I was at the end of my rope and out almost $500. When they finally sent someone who knew what he was doing older and very nice he had my leak repaired in 20 minutes and the mess from the last two spotless, His bill I was happy to pay, But why should I have to pay for bad work done by tweedle dee and tweedle dum. And how can I get the knowledgeable guy (*** was the name of this one) next time bypassing the new recruits? As a side note the girls who answer the phones need to learn some manners, they act as if you are interrupting their day and can't wait to hang up. In my initial call she didn't get my name or house number. And when she rang me she said I didn't give her the information as if I had intentionally withheld it. retrain please! 1 star for office staff : 1 star for plumbers 1 and 2: 5 stars for older plumber 7/3=2.3
I received your comments and concerns last Thursday (Sept. 27th) evening. Unfortunately, very late in relationship to your original notice dated July 2nd. The behavior and attitude of both Roto-Rooter's plumbers and office staff is out of character. We have searched our data base and cannot locate an order for service under your name *** I would like to learn more from you so I can evaluate and if necessary take corrective action. Please provide me with more details. A service address, your full name, a Roto-Rooter ticket/job # &/or invoice #, or your telephone # would be helpful that way we can refine the search. Afterward, I can talk with both the field and office staff to make improvements. We would welcome the opportunity to resolve the matter in a fair way. If your are willing please reach me at *** to discuss. Thank you for your time and consideration
