Linda, I am going to give you a summation of the situation. On 2-7-17, daughter was in an accident and was not listed as a permissive operator. Insured called our office on 2-9-17 to see why she was not on the policy. Agents office pulled up the activity history and...
found a service request initiated by the customer direct to Allstate on 1-4-17 trying to add daughter. This request was not successfully completed by the customer. On 2-9-17 after finding the unsuccessful request agents office called Allstate support and was advised to add daughter back to 1-4 prior to the accident. Our office submitted the request for this to be done. The policy change to add the daughter was processed on policy backdating to 1-23 due to policy period 1-23-17 to 7-23-17. Could not backdate prior to the policies renewal date. This change resulted in a debit endorsement charge for the 6 month policy in the amount of $1,651.44. 7-3-17 he called Allstate customer service indicating he had changed to [redacted] on 2-23-17. There were no records of him contacting our office or Allstate customer service prior to 7-3-17, however there were records of a regular bill sent to customer on 3-2-17, cancellation notice sent to customer on 4-3 for non-payment of premium, policy cancelled notice on 5-26-17 and collection notice’s on 5-27-17, 6-12-17 6-27-17, 7-6-17, 7-21-17 and 8-5-17. There were three payments made on the policy for the collection notices on 7-20-17, 9-17-17 and 9-18-17. After all of the communications that went out there was no record of him contacting our office or Allstate direct notifying his intent to cancel the policy for duplicate coverage, prior to the 7-3-17 call. On 7-5-17 he called our office to try to get the policy cancelled back to 2-23-17 for duplicate coverage. We requested the cancellation back dating to 2-23-17 but Allstate denied the backdating to 2-23-17 per there rules and rates filed with the department of insurance that do not allow backdating of more than 30 days from the request of the insured. Our office has initiated all request immediately per the insured's request. Unfortunately the backdating request is only granted by Allstate not our agency. Unfortunately the customer did not make contact with Allstate within the permissive time to cancel the policy within the 30 days of purchase of his new policy with [redacted]. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to the complaint. We have never received a negative complaint to the Revdex.com in our 19 year history with Allstate. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any additional concerns regarding this matter. Thanks in advance for your assistance. [redacted] Premier Service AgentAllstate Insurance Compnay
