In regards to the complaint filed by *** *** (a complaint filed because *** did not want to pay a mutually agreed upon bill for services rendered), I submitthe following history and
explanation
*** presented to my orthodontic office on 4/7/for a complimentary orthodonticexaminationA thorough clinical exam was completed and tentative diagnostic & treatmentplan considerations were discussedIt was recommended that *** be scheduled for acomplete diagnostic workup and it was clearly explained that this additional work would carrya fee of $On 4/23/14, *** was seen for the completion of the diagnostic records andan invoice was provided for the previously discussed $
Following the completion of the diagnostic records, *** no-showed her follow upappointments without having the courtesy to call and let our office knowThis resulted in adisruption to our busy schedule
Despite ***'s insurance company covering all but $of her diagnostic fee, she refusedto pay her portion of the bill and instructed my staff to "write it off." Numerous attempts havebeen made to recover this payment and *** has refused to fulfill her obligationInaddition, she has now threatened to "tell everyone not to use this business for ortho work ifthey will not reverse it." In any business, patients/clients have a moral, ethical, and legalobligation to fulfill their mutually agreed upon financial obligationsMy business is asking forthat and nothing moreThreats and bribery will not change this expectation*** can either fulfill her obligation or this matter will be closed with her accountbeing reported to all credit agencies and turned over to collections
