Rose & Kiernan

On March 23, 2018 I registered for a 4/21/2018 defensive driving course offered by my employer, ***. Due to unforeseen family medical emergency on Friday 4/20/2018 I could not attend the scheduled course. With family in critical condition and the fact that I was 163 miles away and it was impossible for me to return on time for the course and with everything happening, it did not occur to me that the course was the next day...it farthest thing on my mind at the time, not to mention I had no contact information with me in order to notify anyone regarding my situation.

I contacted Wayne W yesterday, 4/26/2018 when I realized that I'd missed the course and kindly asked for a refund. He was very rude and told me that it's not the company's practice to refund "no show" monies paid in advance, regardless of the circumstances. I commented that the flyer provided to my agency did not inform, disclosed or reflect a NO REFUND statement, and he replied that "it doesn't matter, Rose and Kiernan is not obligated to refund any monies and if you register for one of their courses and don't show up, you forfeit all rights to a refund". I repeatedly told him that I had an emergency and did not have a way to cancel my attendance. Mr. W was sympathetic and not willing to compromise with offering me an alternate/future date to attend a course at another time. I work hard and I'm not in the position to GIVE $30 to any company for free and would like a refund immediately.
