The customer wanted us to fix a leak, so we examined all of the tiles in the area and found four broken ones, which we replaced.  This was the first obvious step to take to attempt to correct the leak. We did this for a mere $80 trip charge (very reasonable for a half hour drive and close to an...

hour onsite)! We put down in writing that if the leak were to persist, further more extensive measures would have to be taken, for an additional charge.
The husband called the next day, saying he felt he shouldn't have to pay. I explained to him that we don't work for free, and he didn't seem to grasp that idea. He was also disappointed we left several chips from the broken tile on the roof, which I agreed we should have cleaned up. 
if the customer thinks we should work for him for free, then we will rescind the $80 charge.
