A representative of (business name) called me on Wednesday 11/20/13 for a courtesy call that my insurance payment was due on 11/23/13. I indicated yes I was aware of this and it would be made.I prefer to use the drop box when making my payments at (business name) due to the fact that if I make it in person I have to deal with inept and incompetent people that have trouble locating my policy and take up a great deal of time. As I work +/- 60 hours a week I don't have time for this. On Monday 11/26/13 I received a phone call before work from a representative on a speaker phone that my policy had been cancelled. As I was in a public place and could not understand the conversation via her use of speakerphone I told her I would call her back when I got to work. As I did make a phone call later in the afternoon after our peak business period and had to call at least 3 phone numbers before I could get hold of a live person I was told my policy had been cancelled due to a sale or restructuring. I asked her why nobody bothered to mention this to me when they called me inquiring about my payment. The lady I spoke with said her name was Linda Charles and she asked me if she could have her supervisor call me back as I was beginning to get flustered and angry. I said yes and asked her what her supervisors name was. She said April, and I asked what (name)'s last name was and she told me she was "not sure. "As of yet "(name)" has not called me back nor have I seen a refund of the money that was paid on my now cancelled policy.The way this company has treated me as a longtime customer is reprehensible and at the very least unethical. For further history I had gotten a card from (business name) affiliated with (business name) that my policy was in danger of being cancelled with no explanation. I went into office and they said they needed to do an inspection and take a picture of my vehicle (which was done and couldn't have been more than 3 months ago.)
