Rodeway Inn

My husband and I checked in around 9 pm on Saturday 8/24/19. We were given a key for room 224. We went into the room to quickly change and left to an event. When we returned at around 2 am, we were tired, changed, turned off the lights and went to bed. I woke up at 3 am from scratching in my sleep and immediately noticed welts on my right leg. I figured it must be bed bugs, but I went back to sleep and woke up again a couple of hours later from itching and more bites on my right and left leg. I woke my husband up at 10 am to tell him that the room had bed bugs. I am allergic to bug bites so my body reacts to bites but not his. We pulled the sheet off to notice many stains, and a ripped mattress encasement held by safety pins. I called customer service and they instructed me to report it to management with them on the phone. I went to the lobby as my husband was checking out and reported the incident. The woman insisted that they didn't have bed bugs and that management wasn't there even as I showed pictures of my bites and the dirty mattress and sheet. She took down a report and said she would pass it on to the manager. The representative on the phone gave me a case number and said to call back in 72 hours if management didn't call me back. I called back and they refused to refund me although I had to go to Kaiser to get medication for all of the bites I woke up with since I am allergic. I had no bites when we checked in and none all of summer, but I wake up in the middle of the night with welts and twice after with more welts each time. I have photos of the bites, and the sheets with what looks like blood and urine stains, and the ripped mattress encasement held by safety pins.
