Rocky's Garage was recommended to me by a friend/coworker because she had used him in the past. He and his wife came to my home to give me an estimate on a car that needed to be fixed. I stated to him that if he thought he could fix it for $3000.00 then we were interested but if it was going to be over that we were going to sell it for parts and be done with it. Rocky agreed to the price and stated that he could do it for between $2,000 and $3000.00. I gave him $2,000.00 up front with another $1,000.00 owed upon completion. I asked for updates several times and never received any information on how things were coming. When the car was ready the total was $4875.00 this was well over what he quoted me. He failed to tell me that he was not certified to turn on the airbag and we would have to put it in a different shop to have it done. Ultimately this ended up costing me around $2525.00 when it was all finished. There was poor communication on his part and giving a verbal estimate and not honoring that estimate was very disappointing to me. We only paid $6000.00 for the car and had no desire to put this kind of money into a car that we can never resale to get all of our money back. It was also upsetting when I tried to remind him of our verbal agreement he became very angry and told me basically that I could pay his price or give him the title and he would give me my $2,000.00 back. I was sure not going to give him this car to resale and make a profit. I should have never agreed to a verbal estimate but my friend had used him before and I had no reason not to believe him. The whole experience was very upsetting.
