I decided to use RMSB to build a 14x24 workshop for a specific design the company offered and that the cost was slightly below the top end range of builders in the area. The website had listed several positive remarks from customers yet later I realized there were only positive remarks. Well into the design and permit stage I found that it was necessary to call the person who was working on the site plan and permitting sometimes two or three times in order to get an answer that he had promised days earlier. There were other instances that caused me to wonder about the work ethic of this individual yet I stopped short in calling the company.
Finally, after long last the crew started the build. I was told by the crew that the person who often failed to communicate effectively was the owner and that he had occasion to bump a client down the start list if he couldn't operate on his own time line. I also came to realize too that the upcharges on the windows and doors were well above industry average.
My last email to RMSB said exactly what I stated here and I received a "sorry" with no offer of remuneration or explanation.
Buyer beware, as they say, and I certainly learned a lesson. If you're interested in a standard shed for the lawnmower, then you'll probably find several satisfied clients. Otherwise, for a semi-custom shop I would recommend shopping around.
