Review: On 6/**/13, I had a [redacted] in my [redacted] removed at [redacted]. Rockville Anesthesia provided the physician during this procedure. My insurance was billed by the hospital, lab, radiology, etc. pertaining to my surgery and follow up care. I recently received (letter dated 5/**/15) a collection letter from the [redacted] indicating that my account was referred to their office. For almost two (2) years, I NEVER received a statement, an invoice, a bill, nor a phone call in regards to charges that weren't paid by my insurance carrier. NOT ONCE!!
Two years after my surgery, my account is referred to a law office!! No contact whatsoever! No phone call! I haven't moved, nor has my contact information changed.Desired Settlement: While my insurance may, in fact, not have covered my surgical procedure in its entirety, I was never provided an explanation of charges. In addition, in good faith, I have sent the law firm a payment in the amount of $50., however, this account should have NEVER gone to collections because Rockville Anesthesia did not make any attempts to contact me about these charges for 2 years, therefore, my credit report should not reflect this negative discrepancy. I request that this be pulled IMMEDIATELY from my credit report, and I want proof that it was removed.
I am not interested in a settlement because I pay my debts, however, this is not a professional way to conduct business (it's actually highly questionable and suspect). Patients should not have to be sent to collections over a bill they were never made aware of.
