This is the best website I have ever used to order auto parts. Well done!
I recently bought coil springs from Rockauto.com however, my mechanic looked at the springs and said they were the wrong kind. I needed a vehicle so I let him order the right springs and put them on. I contacted rockauto to return the unused springs and set up a mail plan with fedex. In the email I received stated I needed to place why I was returning the springs into the box. I placed everything with its original packaging inside the original box and sent it back. Rock auto emailed me stating that the parts were not in the original packaging and I would not receive a refund. When I asked for the springs back they stated that they were scrapped. I was refused to get my refund for doing what they told me to do. I also returned a ignition coil prior to this and I had to complain and wait a month until I finely received my money back. They said they never received the product. I am a hard working American and I can't believe how rude they were to me when I did exactly what they told me to do. I saved all the conversations in my email.
I purchased a clutch kit in July 2013 from RockAuto and finally in November 2013 I am able to begin the project. After removing the damaged part I became aware the part ordered was not a correct fit. I called the Valeo part manufacturer tech. help line (displayed on the manufacture packing box) and with their friendly assistance was able to get the correct part number. I contacted RockAuto to request a return and replacement with the correct part for my vehicle. I had correctly entered on line all info for my vehicle and available parts were displayed for my selection. I selected one that gave clutch diameters as a description of the part. Others were more descriptive as to vehicle models etc. I was at unable to measure my clutch when ordering it had not yet been removed. I was informed that RockAuto wouldn't accept a return for replacement due to the fact that I exceeded the 30 day return policy. After much discussion I was offered a 50% restocking fee to return and replace my item, on a $204.00 part, are you kidding me? I have since recontacted the Valeo part manufacturer and hopefully will be able to exchange the part thru them. I serve for the U.S. Armed Forces and encourage all my fellow members having served and currently serving to BEWARE of RockAuto for your auto parts needs concerning zero tolerance on their seemingly iron clad 30 day return policy. To RockAuto this is one of the freedom's we the Armed Forces protect and die for...FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Their return process is very straightforward and I have never had any trouble returning a part or getting a replacement. Also their website is very simple to navigate and find what you need.

Review: I ordered a front wheel hub for my 1997 Acura CL car. When I received the part it would not fit because it was the wrong part. They sent me the wheel hub for the 2.2 liter engine acura cl when I needed the hub for a 3.0 liter acura CL car. I specifically ordered the part for a 3.0 liter acura CL. When I called the customer service they told me I was misinformed and that the part would fit both cars. This is incorrect and I told him various sources to back up my claim. He was not interested in helping me and told me that I ordered the wrong part and that he would not help me further. I said I just wanted them to refund my money for the part and shipping since they sent the wrong part, but they siad they were unable to do that. I paid $18 for the part and $9 to have it shipped. They wanted me to pay $6.22 for the return shipping and forfeit the $9 shipping I originally paid to have the part shipped to me. That would leave me losing $15 for their mistake...which is unacceptable to me. I just wanted them to correct their mistake in the computer so that it wouldn't happen to anyone else, but again they were unwilling to do that even after I gave them several part numbers that supported my claims. I will never do business with thus company again.Desired Settlement: They will pay for the return shipping and refund me my whole $27 that I spent for the part and shipping. They will also change the part number in their catalogue so that it doesn't happen again.

customer reports that a part does not fit and the correct part was
ordered, we do everything we can to investigate why the part isn't
fitting. If it simply doesn't fit – whether due to a manufacturer's
listing mistake, an altered vehicle or some other reason – we split
the shipping with the customer. It appears we set up the return
incorrectly initially and did not offer to split the shipping with
the customer. This customer is entitled to a refund of his original
shipping or – if he prefers – a free prepaid FedEx label to ship
the part back. If he chooses to use the free label, he would be
refunded for the part cost only of the hub, $18.42, upon its return.
If he is interested in the full refund, for the part cost and the
shipping, or in the prepaid label, we encourage him to email us

return for him. We apologize for the oversight and the
