To whom it may concern, We have signed up with a weekly CSA box with Rochon Gardens since the first week of June 2020, we have been collecting the box every Monday without failing between 3-7pm, however Monday the 3rd 2020 was a long weekend holiday, we forgot that it was a Monday and Tuesday morning we realized we forgot to pick up the box so we called at 8.00am Tuesday morning asking what to do,we even offered to come to their farm in *** and pick it up. Due to our surprise they said they can't give us our box that was missed on Monday evening at the end of the week it goes to the food back, but we said it's not the end of the week, we depend on those groceries for the entire week so we can come pick it up or if not asked for a refund, they were rude and said their website policy is to give it to food back, ok if that's the policy we would like a charity tax receipt for our money and goods donated to charity without our consent. We feel like they probably sold the box to someone else and we have no proof of them giving it to charity.
So on the phoen failing tocome to acompromise, I told them next week we are away so we can't pick the box, they said it will be a vacation box and the box on August 10th will be given on the 17th and will be twice the produce. I am mentioning this because they might say that they gave us a vacation box, however I have the email confirmation that it's for August 10th box that I am going to miss, I also have the vacation confirmation if you need proof of that I am indeed will be out of town.
I gave a google review and they came back saying they are giving a vacation box,which is not true.
we do get their email reminder on Saturday, they mentioned I am on their text reminder but I never get their texts, however, my complaint isn't about the lack of their effort to remind people, my complaint is about, ok we missed a box, what happened to our money that we paid for this box, we need a refund, some produce to compensate or if given to charity we need a charity tax credit. We feel like this money was robbed from us.
They were very rude, the only reason we went with CSA because of Covid we wanted to help out local farmers, how hard it is to be nice to your customers and if they simply said sorry we can't give that box however we can give some extra produce to compensate or a basket of potatoes to compensate or something to make a customer happy and not feeling like st. The whole experience the way they handled was bizzarre.

Our contract, which is clearly laid out on our website and appears in many places for customers to read prior to signing up for a share, clearly states: "Members who do not pick up their boxes will lose the share box for that week. Their box will be donated to a local food bank. Please note that a canceled delivery or a missed pick-up is considered a loss of the box, no replacements will be issued and refunds will not be given. Members commit to reading and understanding all of the CSA information as well as knowing all of the risks and rewards related to being a member of our CSA program." We will reach out to the *** and ask them if they would please issue a tax receipt to the customer in the amount of $33.50, the price the customer paid for their missed share.
