Our advertising does state the we do free estimates on site. However, on this particular job, a more thorough investigation was needed to determine the problem. Our technician gave them a price to go into the crawl space to do a leak investigation. The customer agreed to move
forward with the work our technician quoted and signed our invoice. Our customer was also told that most of the investigation cost would be applied toward the leak repair. Once the customer was told that the leak was from a shower drain, they said that they will be remodeling that bathroom in the future and they would fix it at that time. The customer was never insulted or called a liar.I reached out to the customer and adjusted the invoice to $+ tax which they accepted. I will need more information to find your account.  I don't have a customer in my database with the last name [redacted].  We work in Mason, Kitsap and Western Pierce counties...
