Review: I purchased a car from this dealership Robinson Ford in Calexico,ca on 3/26/2013 I gave a down payment of 2500.00 for a 2007 ford explorer I submitted all the necessary documents including pay stubs references, rental, agreements ,utility bills and provided insurance information for the vehicle.I was told that was it and the deal was done and that the finance company would be giving me a welcome call . When I received the call from the finance company I was told by [redacted] from the finance company on 4/01/2013 that everything was OK and that's all they needed. I never heard from anyone after that until 4/8/2013 when I was left a voice-mail asking for more pay-stubs and then a second on 4/11/2013 call asking for insurance when I had furnished proof of insurance to the dealership and on 4/18/2013 I received a voice-mail to return the vehicle back the dealership and then again on 4/22/2013 to take the vehicle in. when my wife spoke with Robinson ford on 4/22/2013 she advised them that she had spoke with an attorney who told her that Robinson ford was outside the 10 day cancellation period. The gentleman asked her why she contacted an attorney and then threatened to call the district attorney on herDesired Settlement: full refund for the down payment 2500.00 refund for the fuel this vehicle was delivered on a empty tank the tank now is nearly full refund for the down payment for insurance 136.50

To Whom it may concern:
In response to complaint ID
[redacted], the customer [redacted] came in
and tried to purchase the vehicle
that is stated. Due to his credit issues the
finance company that approved him
also asked for certain stipulations and
verifications including proof of
full coverage insurance, proof of residence,
proof of income and Verification
of employment among also an
interview/welcome call to the
customer. The finance company verified that
Mr. [redacted]s income was less
than what he had reported by calling his
employer and verifying his most
recent check stubs. This process is
something that the bank does in
order to verify applicant's Payment to Income
and Proof of Residence.
Unfortunately they did turn down the deal after
efforts to contact Mr. [redacted] and let him know what the situation was.
When Mr. [redacted] returned the
vehicle, we refunded his down payment and
also refunded the gasoline he had
put in the vehicle. We were told by Mr.
[redacted] and his wife that they
were satisfied with this resolution. The
insurance refund was never
mentioned by the customer, and is a requirement
by the Finance company process of
