I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I did not speak with [redacted] regarding compensation I spoke to the owner of Robin Drive Auto LLC, [redacted] (per Delaware of State: Division of Corporations), who only offered $50.00Now they have upped it to $100.00 and I still do not accept it. The check engine light was on when I test drove it, and [redacted] stated he would get it fixed before I picked it up. It failed twice at DMV when I took it, [redacted] stated that all he did was turn the light out when they handed over the keys to see what it would do, then [redacted] took it to DMV and they had to push it out of the bay the next day it passed, the day after the check engine light was back on with same code. If this company is not willing to resolve with a full credit of what I paid ($608) it will be taken it to the next level.

David is the owner here and when I say that I've never met a car salesman like him in my life -- I mean it. He sat down with me and spent a good amount of time explaining everything to me. He truly cares about his customers and does everything he can to get them into and keep them in their vehicles. I cannot express my heartfelt thanks enough to him, his beautiful wife, and his staff. Every time I walked through the door, I was greeted with a sincere smile and always felt welcome. I trust them and recommend them to everybody.
Review: 9/2014 Purchased a vehicle from used car dealer, salesman pulled it up for a test drive and stated that the check engine light just came on, but don't worry we will fix it for you before you come to pick it up. Picked it up two weeks later and they stated that it was fixed, and I took the vehicle home and on the way home the check engine light came on. I called them the next day and they stated to bring it back to do a diagnostic on it. One month later after many attempts from their repair shop the check engine light still was on. It failed DMV twice when I took it, so they took it through, and it stalled out and had to be pushed out of the bay, then they took it the next day and it passed then the next day the check engine light came back on. I took the vehicle to two different shops for diagnostics - one was the VW dealership and the other a licensed mechanic shop. I had it repaired at the licensed repair shop for $608. I talked to [redacted] regarding the vehicle's check engine light still being on and she referred me to Don, the salesman, he said he would have to talk to [redacted](the owner). [redacted] offered me $50 and I refused his offer he followed me out to my vehicle and asked me what could he do I stated credit my account for the repairs, and he said he would talk to the mechanic that repaired it. The following week I talk to [redacted](the owner) he said the he talked to someone from the repair shop but didn't talk about my vehicle. After further talking to [redacted] he had the wrong repair shop even though the information is on the estimate. I called the mechanic that fixed the vehicle and he said no one from Robin Drive Auto called them regarding the VW Jetta. The vehicle should have been fixed before I picked it up the very first time because they had two weeks to fix it before I picked it up. ** the Service Manager did state that they just turned the check engine light out the first time to see if it would come back on. I need a mediator because I am going around in circles talking to everyone.Desired Settlement: The above is just a summary not enough characters to tell the whole situation. They did replace the 02 sensor but after replacing it the check engine light still was on and with a lot more codes. I went to Auto Zone and got a diagnostic for all of the codes. My settlement would be to get my account credited for the full amount of the repair.

Response:
Thank you very much for giving us yet another opportunity to resolve the situation. It is my understanding that [redacted] had offered you $100 towards the repair and I will offer you the same $100 towards the repair that you undertook at an outside shop. We spoke for quite some time the other day and I explained to you indetail that we already gave you a free repair to take care of the issue that hadcaused the check engine light to come on.During your ownership it came on again for an unrelated item. You told [redacted], as you told me that you had paid $595 for a warranty. We took you at your word and did not check any records but we talked to you as if you did have a warranty. You again expressed to me when you met with me the other day that you paid $595 for an extended warranty. I pulled your folder and when I looked at your bill of sale, as I pointed out to you, you chose to take the vehicle as it is without any extended warranty. Having a warranty on the vehicle is there to help you and assist you with such things as you are asking for now..The reason the check engine light came on at the later date was unrelated to the reason it came on at the point that you purchased the vehicle. The oxygen sensor was repaired and that ended that issue. The vehicle was presented to the Delaware Division of Motor vehicle and passed inspection. Check engine lights come on for various reasons each time not bemg relevant to the previous time. Even though you did not have the warranty the offer had already been made to you to give you some kind of compensation for your inconvenience therefore we kept that offer on the table I'm not exactly sure why you believe without having a warranty you should receive the same benefits as somebody who has paid for the warranty. Please also understand, with all the vehicles that we are talking about, they are used automobiles. They have had a previous owner. They have had previous repairs. They are a collection of used parts as every part on the vehicle haspreiviously been used. They will be expected to fail at some time. We do not try to set that up or orchestrate most unfortunate events that may pop up. We do offer our own goodwill assistance to try and help with any other unfortunate events that may come up.Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for the continued upkeep of the automobiles that customers purchase We do want our customers to be happy, and that's why we have a 30 day assistance policy with repairs, but those repairs must be [redacted]e in our shop. We have offered you the $100 compensation to settle the matter and you had refused it. If it is acceptable to you please contact the office and speak with [redacted] is our office operations manager and has the ability to take care of things suchas these on behalf of the business. Waiting to only speak with me can cause a delay as I am not frequently in the office and have a dedicated staff to service the needs of my customers. Our end result is to have our customers in their vehicles and happy with them. We were willing to work with you to come to a resolution for the concerns you previously expressed, but unfortunately you failed to respond to our attempts. Review: My vehicle was towed out of my driveway on July 4th, 2015 by Robin Drive Auto and or it's affiliate to"address a repair issue I reported; "however I was unaware that they would be doing so and reported the vehicle as stolen. At which time the police notified me that the vehicle was repossessed. During the initial contract I did not receive any paperwork or copies of what I signed, only a temporary registration card and T-Tag. The vehicle was a 2001 Dodge Ram Cargo Van; I had goods in the van to take to Farmer's Market to sale. The company refused to allow me to retrieve my personal property totaling over $1,500 after I decided to surrender the vehicle due to repair issues. July 13th, I call to notify them that I would be in to retrieve my things. The Owner [redacted] handed me a piece of paper that stated my vehicle was reposessed, I would be responsible for all fee storincurred and that all my personal belongings had been acquired. I refused to sign the document as it was not a true statement. An[redacted] became hostile and told me to get out of his office and to get my U-Haul off his property or he was going to have it towed. I left the building , with the key to the vehicle and was going back to return it, when his employee Ashley net me by the door and re attempted to explain the wording of the document. She stated that I needed to sign the document before they could retrieve the van from storage and once it was signed she would personally, get the van, bring it over to the dealership so that I could obtain my belongings. I said I would trust her and I wanted a copy of the document. I handed her the key, signed the document and waited. After 10-15 mins. Went by, I attempted to go back in the building to see what was taking so long and the door to the dealership was locked. I ultimately called the police and they stated it was s civil matter of which I would have to resolve in court. A police report was taken and O left the premises without my property and any documentation as to the ownership of the vnDesired Settlement: I would like the return of my property or a check for its value.
Review: We purchased a 2000 GM Sonoma pick up from Robin Drive Auto. The truck was paid off in September 2014. We have contacted them numerous times attempting to get the title for the vehicle only to get no results. They claim there is a balance due. The balance is for a repo that never happened. Due to an employment change a payment was late. When it was made, (within 2 weeks)a promise to pay note was signed saying it would be paid in full by the end of September. If it was paid by that time all fees would be removed. When final payment was made, we were told the owner was choosing not to uphold the terms of the promise to pay agreement. The truck was paid by the date, fees were not removed, title still remains with them. An offer to pay half as a good will gesture was made. Two and a half months have elapsed since that offer was made without contact from them. We contacted them yesterday, and were told they would call us in the morning. They did not call. When we contacted them today, they say they have to speak with someone named [redacted] who is the business manager and will see what can be done. We want to get another vehicle but can not with out the title. We request you help us resolve this issue as soon as possible. Mrs. [redacted]Desired Settlement: The repo fees for a repo that never took place be removed, as soon as possible showing a zero balance and the title turned over to us.
Review: When I fell into a hardship, My car got repossessed on November 2, 2014. I only owes less than 2000.00 left on the vehicle and now they want a total of 4500.00, not telling me where the expenses are coming from. Another issue it is when I called Robin Drive Auto on November 3 to retrieve my personal items such as my wallet, iPhone, clothing, the contract I have for the car including receipts, and a universal car jack since the dealership did not included one when the car was purchased. The employee have told me that before they put the car in the auction and that they would remove all items out of the car and make them available for me to pick up from the dealership's office and told me to call back on December 3, 2014 to arrange a pick time. When I called back on December 3rd, the employee have told me that they would not give me my items unless I paid the unpaid balance.Desired Settlement: Now That I'm being sent to court over unexplained debt, I need my copy of my contract and all my personal items the was left in the car, if the items are no longer available, then I want to dealership to replace my personal items.
Do not recommend purchasing anything from this business, even if you are desperate! You will be sorry!
Review: My husband and I have had issues with this so called "dealership" since buying our truck. It first started that all of the loan paperwork was done incorrectly, we had to go back to Robins Drive and resign all paperwork. We were called and harrassed because the incorrect date was written on the loan documents, I dated them for the date they were signed, but had to resign them with the incorrect date. The check engine light, that was supposed to be corrected in the vehicle, never has and is still on to this day. The water pump seal was leaking and had to be torn apart and replaced. This was a vehicle that we were told would pass inspection. I wouldn't want my worst enemy driving their vehicles. A person can only drive 25 miles out of there way before giving up on the possiblitly that the "mechanic" will eventually fix it. During this time we had a deferred payment that we had to make directly to Robins that we didn't make because we were unsure of whether we would be keeping the vehicle, since there were so many issues, the 2 above aren't the only ones. Most recently we were called about the payments and I was told they were making $50 collection calls to us, but didn't have to disclose that was why they were calling. That I would have to pay for $400 in calls. This seems a little outrageous to me. My total bill was $1500 and I hav $225.00 left as of today, 6/15/15. After all of the issues and difficulty I have had with this place, I would have thought that there would be a little more understanding as to why the payments weren't up to date. If it was my business, I would be so embarrased all that happened to a customer I would have waived all fees and the $225.00 and called it a day. I also think that this place should be looked into, I don't think they have the best business practices, they deal with alot of cash only. They don't rely on car faxes, and if you actually do look up the vehicle, it's usually not worth the time of day. After purchasing the vehicle is when everything goes wrong, and of course I googled the place and they have the worst reviews, most words used are crooks! Go figure.Desired Settlement: I would like all the fees removed from this account, I feel as though all of the issues I have had with this place, I am entitled to it. Verification that the balance on the account as of June 15, 2015 is $225.00. Two payments of $50 have been made, one on 5/12/15 and the other on 6/12/15. No more phone contact with Robins Drive, email will be accepted, I want a log (receipt) of them contacting me, since when I call a different answer is provided everytime.
Review: March 6,2015 I purchased a car from RDA llc with the help of their salesman, [redacted]. After the deal was closed, & with 1500$ down I drove off the lot excited about my first car! As I got home I showed my parents only for them to recognize multiple "cosmetic" issues that were broken and/or missing! Being a 19 old young adult who went car searching on her own, I decided to chalk that down [redacted] a loss because as the owner of RDA told me, I'd have to pay to get those things fixed. So I thought whatever. I'll fix them. But that was not the issue. My issue began literally less than a week with my car, I had problems with the engine light. It came on within the first week of the purchase! Immediately I began contacting them. I brought my car back up to the dealership every Monday (my only day off) for a few weeks to have them look at my car... The mechanic [redacted], looked at my car on many occasions and concluded it was a Throttle Body Gasket. Which cost me 85.00$ the same day the engine light came on. To no surprise That was one of many problems. I continued to bring the car to them for services. Even prior to them fixing my throttle body. Leading up to the end of my 30 day warenty they were pushing me to go through inspection. But again, my engine light was STILL on. The day before I took my vehicle to inspection, I took my car to [redacted] and he "fixed" the engine light. Went to inspection , and passed. THE NEXT DAY my engine light came back on! After the run around and false conclusions I took my car to [redacted]. They told me I should invest in a new engine. And I should also be looking to actively sell the car because it's junk. Robin Drive also told me the engine needs to be replaced. After telling RDA the information [redacted] gave me, [redacted] than finally said "you know mrs [redacted], I'm just really not sure". So this whole time, you just went sure of the problem?!?! The final pricing RDA gave me was 1,800.00 for the Replacement Engine assembly and 850$ for the labor. That was stated to me on 5/14/2015. Two months after having this car I was being told I'd have to put this amount of money into the car. They weren't trying to help me at all. I just couldn't believe their customer service and the way they treat their customers. I than, stop driving the car.. Because the problems started worsening and purchased a new one. After I stopped making the payments, they came and retrieved the car.Desired Settlement: I would love to have my money back from this piece of crap car, and my credit recovered.
Review: on 11/18/13 I came in to Robin Drive Auto look at a car. 11/23/13 is when I was able to drive off the lot due to insurance issues. That same day I drove off the lot, less than 4 miles down the road the car started smoking on me. I called right then and told them. On 11/25/13 I informed them the car over heated on the way there. after they took a look they said that my transmission overflow tank cap popped off. Once they fixed that they then informed me that there was a leak associated with my car smoking. which I had asked and checked about before buying the car. I sat there till close (6pm) before they gave me that information. on 11/26/13 they told me that it was recommended I get a new engine and they would pay for it and I would pay 1,000 in labor. I infored them that everything I had asked about the car is whats going wrong with it and I wanted my money back. they told me no. I asked if I could get another car off there lot and they told me no because they had sent my name in for the tags on the 1999 chrylser 300m and since they told me no I told them I guess I have no choice but to put the engine in. I was told that the engine would be in on wed 11/27/13 and done on fri 11/29/13 I was accually done 12/3/13 and I had been told on that prior sat and mon that the car was done when I called and came in. Wen I drove off on 11/3/13 the car died on me the next day. the car was dead all week and I had a friend of the family give me a jump 12/7/13 and the car started up out the blue but by 12/10/13 they came to pick up the car. that had my personal belongings in there that they wont give me back even after I told them that I would back the fee just to get my things out of the car, they could have the car back, they still havent giving me my things back and its now 12/14/13 and there holdin my things still. When I called the police to have someone mediate the started lying to the police stating I had things I didnt and just giving me problems.Desired Settlement: On 11/23/13 I gave robin Drive Auto a down payment of $1,000 plus $50 just for swiping my card( total being 1,050. On 12/10/13 When they picked up my car with my personal belongings in there ( my purse with my money and galaxy s3 cell phone and ipad mini)which has been sitting in a cold car for four days now probably damaged from the cold weather. and $75 I had paid wen trying to get my things on 12/12/13 and they wouldnt let me.
Review: I was charged a $450 collection charge when I made the payment and was never notified of any issues or concerns. I would call them and tell them I was going to make a payment and then would go into the place to make the cash payment within a few days of the call. Then one day they charged me the illegal collection fee and even repo the truck when we were out of town which cost me $200 to get back.Desired Settlement: I want the $450 collection charge refunded. They knew I was making a payment, they accepted the plan and never notified me that we were in trouble or having an issue with my account. Also, there is no talk in the contract about this collection fee, and I believe Delaware law prohibits that amount of a late fee or collection charge.
Review: I went to robin drive auto and purchased a 2006 impala I drove the car off the lot and down to the wawa to get gas the car started jerking and not going pass 20 on the speed omentor I called that night to return the car but there was no answer I then called 8:00 am in the morning to return the car the business manager then told me I had to speak with the wore at ten I called at ten the receptionist told me I had to call at four to speak with the wore I then popped up at three long and behold the owner was standing right before my eyes looking as though he seen a ghost I the called the police to have them assist me in the return of the car the owner then gave the police the run around and they got impatient with the owner he said that he was not the owner and was clearly lien I then stood back the police told him give me my money know he's given me the run aroundsDesired Settlement: I want my hard earned money back
Review: Robin Drive Auto has been a headache and scam since the week I received a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. It all started with failing inspection. I took it back the very next week which is 2 hours away, just to be told they could not fix the issue. All that was wrong was parking lights and brake lights that I fixed out of my own pocket, when I was told if it failed they would fix the problem. It also had a check engine light that when I took it back, they only cleared the information and as oon as I left, the engine light came back on. They gave me the run around saying it was a oil light sensor and evaporation can. Which they never did fix. The salesman [redacted] and the machanic [redacted] told me they would call me when parts came in. A weeks went by, I continued to call to find out what was going on with the car. I found out the salesman [redacted] and [redacted] were fired. This is when the big problems started. It went as far as Robin Auto did not even know my contract, my payments, or anything which I had to fax everything to them. They had me in collections for failing to pay every week when the contract agreement clearly said b-weekly. They added 2000.00 to my bill, which I talked to the "owner" [redacted], who I got back on track with, but in the end, did not get back on track with, Him and I sent many many texts to figure out what was going on, seeing the business never even knew what was going on. At this time I had put $4000.00 down on the vehicle. Still had temp tags due to not passing inspection, The tags ran out because robin auto could not fix, my boyfriend fixed the lights and the electrical problem with the car, as I also noted to [redacted] through text, which I do have all texts to and from [redacted] and myself. Robin auto, made comments about contacting myself, tara which I have verizon records of them never trying to call my phone one time. The problems go on and on with people who work at the place, the car, and dealing with issues. I returned the car but need to speak to someone about what I can do.Desired Settlement: I am not sure what can be done. I need to speak to someone for there is a lot more about my complaint where I could not fill in above. I had the car from April 25th til August 13th. I paid over 5000.00 for a car to have it that short of time, and very upset with the business, the owners, and the scams they are pulling on people. The original contract was for $7499.99, with taxes tags and title was $8499.99, and they tried charging me more than $10,000 for the car for following the rules.
