My first statement
1 - I do not give a guarantee on concrete
2. How do you guarantee another companys product?
3. Look on the contract there is no guarantee
4. I did say I would fix it if it was my fault
5. [redacted] the field rep from [redacted]....
viewed the [redacted]s Driveway and said it was salt dammage. [redacted] Sent them a letter stating so. Did they show the letter to your?6. When I left the driveway looked great as was stated in their statement.
7. Their is 2 untrue statement from them. First one is, it was 2 years before they had pitting & Flaking. Second one ie I never said it was bad concrete. [redacted] concrete is a State Certified plant. The [redacted]s Driveway made it through the winter of 2012. This is the most critical time then through 2013. They did not call me untill last year 2014. [redacted] conrete guarantees concrete for 1 year. Not 2. I told them to reseal the driveway. They did not until [redacted] sent them his statement in 2014.
I have no controll over what people do after I leave their job site. Their 1st mistake was not resealing their driveway. You do not buy a new car and never wax it for 2 years or 3. Any statement of (we don't salt our driveway) is a question.
They were not nice 2 talk to after or up to this point. Yes I quite takein their calls. Again not nice. Also broom finished concrete is not overworked.
Thank you [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Mr. [redacted] has selectively chosen which details to share. When we first contacted him he told us he was sold a bad batch of concrete by [redacted]. We hired Mr. [redacted], not [redacted], but because he was unwilling to accept responsibility we contacted them to discuss it. They told us flaking can be caused by a number of different factors including salt or overworking the concrete. We don't believe salt was the reason because:
1) we have never used salt on our dirveway
2) Mr. [redacted] sealed the driveway and we resealed it and it's still flaking
3) the location is in the middle of the driveway and not consistent with where we park. It also isn't flaking by the street where the city heavily salts in the winter.
4) our neighbors hired a different concrete contractor after our troubles and when they looked at our driveway they quickly identified it as concrete that had been overworked in areas.
Let me know if pictures would be helpful. I am happy to post them for you.
Mr. [redacted] finally told us last year that he would take care of the repairs and then stopped answering any of our calls. As I'm sure you can imagine, this was a large investment for our family. I honestly don't believe he has any intention of making it right, but want to do everything I can to be sure no other family gets caught in this situation.
