Review: I purchased a battery less than 2 years ago for 214.00. It is under warranty. I called them Sat morning 3/22/14 because my battery is dead and they said there was nothing they could do for me until Monday unless I wanted a tow.Desired Settlement: They left me high and dry. I had to call AAA?

Needed roadside assistance/towing service. Originally, I was told that a tow truck will be over to me in an hour. An hour passes by and no tow truck in sight so I called the company to follow up on the tow truck. When I called, I was put on hold and immediately hung up on. Called back subsequently and put on hold again. Then, hung up on a second time. Called back a third time, and was put on hold for about 15 minutes to tell me that it was going to be ANOTHER HOUR after waiting for more than an hour already plus the 15minutes that I was put on hold. I had asked and stated if I was told that it was going to take 2 hours from the get go then I would have been fine but that was not the case. Instead, the guy who I was talking to named [redacted] said that it's a Monday and that they're backed up and I said that I understood. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was very unfortunate when Frank had told that he is the manager and that he is done with me. When I had previously mentioned that I called a couple of times and got hung up on both times, once by him, Frank said sarcastically that he cannot stop the world for me. And I replied with saying that I know he can't stop the world because no one can...I mean, if you're stranded in the middle of nowhere and in need a tow truck company, I strongly do not recommend Roadway Auto Towing. The manager out of all people is very rude, uncaring and disrespectful. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a different towing/roadside assistance company. Stay safe and lock yourself in your car because [redacted]-enstein might get you. Additionally, I really don't even want to give it a star but yelp requires you to at least give it a one star rating!!!!!!!

Review: I used this company as Towing Company back in Aug, 2013. The driver check my car and said it was because my Battery went bad. In stead of towing my car, he replaced my battery. From Aug 2013 to Feb 2014, I called them back for 5 times because of the battery issue. Two of their drivers told me that the battery they put in my car does not really fit my MDX perfectly, they have to bend the battery connector or add some cap to make sure the connectors won't fall off. It was very dangerous to drive my car like this because there were few times the connector fell off on the freeway , the car just stopped moving right away. I called this morning again for the battery issue and asked to speak toTheir management. The lady on the phone was screaming at me:" do you want me to send a driver to you or not?" ..... The drivers helped me were all nice And the wait time was reasonable . I just think the company should not offer battery servicesDesired Settlement: Full refund . On the sale receipt, it said" all seals are final" I think they meant " all sales are final." However, in this case, it is a defect product, they should honor a full refund. If they offer replacement , they need to be responsible for the charge that Acura dealer charges me. Because I don't trust their battery, I need to take it to professionals to make sure their product is valid

Review: Roadway Towing put a new battery in my car on 01/21/14. I believe it had an 18 month warranty. At least that is what Roadway told me. It was an Interstate Battery. In a 10 day period in early June, 2015, I had to call them 4 times to come out and jump start my battery because the car would not start. The first man that came out jump started the car said it was not the battery. He did not test the battery at all. The second man that came out said it was not the battery, but if it didn't start the next day to call Roadway and they would replace the battery because it was still under warrant. The third man that came out said it was not the battery or alternator or starter. He used a portable machine to check I asked him if he could just replace the battery and he said he couldn't because it was still good and there was nothing wrong with it. A fourth time the car did not start and I called Roadway again to come out. Again another man used his machine and said it was not the battery or alternator, but may be the starter. He jump started the car and I drove it to [redacted] to have them check why I can't start the car. They said it was the battery and replaced it for $109.95. Plus I had to pay a diagnostic charge of $95.00. Total cost was $204.95. All of this expense could have been avoided if Roadway Towing would have replaced the battery that was under warranty that I originally purchased from them and they installed back on 1/21/14.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed the $204.95 I put out of pocket for the diagnostic and battery charges.

Business

Response:

We can do a full refund if our old interstate battery is given back to us. We use the same tester AAA roadside does. So we stand behind our battery tester. If the tester says it's good then it will be a good battery.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10687202, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted] I do accept the full refund, but I am not able to get the battery back. I called [redacted] and they informed me that it had already been cored. Roadway had 4 chances to replace the battery and take the old one with them and they did not. I had no choice but to get a new one. I have attached the invoice from [redacted]. Please contact them directly with any questions. I still want the $204,94 refunded. At the time of replacement, I was not aware that I needed to keep the old battery.

Review: I called my insurance company because my car broke down and they sent roadway towing . I was getting the car towed to a auto shop , when we got there I went inside , and the tow truck driver proceed to take my car off the tow truck bed , when I came out my back window was shattered , the driver said he closed the door and the window just broke , I then asked him if he was gonna fix it he said to call his boss and he will fix it , so then I called and asked to talk to the owner and they informed me that they gotta call places around to find a window for my car (2008 nissan ) to call back , so then I caled at 11am the same day about 4 hours later , and I asked to speak with the owner again but this time they hung up , I then called back and the owner was on the phone and he was rude and when I enformened him that its raining and are they gonna be able to fix it today he said no it will take a week , I then asked him why will it take that long he then began to be rude said I was bugging and that if I dont like it to take him to court and hung upDesired Settlement: I want my window his driver broke fix and also apologize for the rude behavior

Review: Car wouldn't start. Roadway Towing sent help who said it was NOT the battery.

They sent their battery "expert" who also said NOT the battery. They towed my car to my mechanic who determined it WAS the battery and he replaced it pursuant to its warranty.

Roadway Towing has twice refused to pay my out of pocket for the extra expense of my mechanic due to their failure to provide the roadside service. My mechanic's services came to $70.00. My personal time, loss of use, and aggravation I claim is worth $500.Desired Settlement: They pay me $570.00

This business has some of the most incompetent employees that I have ever dealt with. They do not keep their doors open during business hours of 8am-5pm; they seem to close at various times throughout the day. Plus, each employee has a different understanding of what their business practices are. I highly recommend everyone to steer clear of this place.

Review: I was in my room at home when, at approximately 6:50pm, I heard a car alarm go off. Just to make sure the alarm wasn’t coming from my vehicle, I checked out my window. I noticed that the alarm was going off from my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that the driver’s door was wide open. I couldn’t see much else because the wall of my window was blocking off my view.

My mom ran out first because I was in the process of getting ready. My boyfriend had texted me he was home so we could go out to dinner right when the car alarm starting going off. Approximately 30 seconds after, I ran out to notice there was a Middle Eastern looking gentleman standing next to a towing truck with the [redacted] Avenue address listed on the side. I asked why he had broken into my vehicle. All my payments were on time and my vehicle was parked in the appropriate guest parking spot. He ignored me. My mom told me that she had seen the towing truck parked in the same spot about an hour ago when she came home. I told the employee that the vehicle he broke into was my vehicle. He held up his pointer finger at me while he yelled at someone in a different language into his cell phone. Then he shoved the cell phone into my face in an obvious attempt to make me speak to whomever he was speaking with.

I spoke with a gentleman on the phone, who immediately started apologizing. He stated that they were searching for a vehicle “matching the description” of my vehicle. While I was speaking to him on the phone, telling him this was my vehicle and asking if he checked the license plate number and VIN number, the employee at the scene continued to look at my car. I handed the phone back to him after the gentleman on the phone assured me there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and no reason it had to be towed away. The employee got back on the phone, continued to yell on the phone in a different language while touching my windshield, pointing at the VIN number. Even after he was told this was the incorrect vehicle, the employee continued to touch my car.

As I was making sure that nothing was stolen from my vehicle and that everything was okay, I heard the employee mumble sorry before getting into his vehicle and driving off. I did not even have the opportunity to speak with him as I was still in my vehicle making sure to check if everything was okay.

The weekend after that Thursday, I started noticing some anomalies with my Cherokee. 3 out of about 10 times I started my vehicle, I would have to push the ignition button twice rather than the one time it always took previous to this incident. Locking the vehicle on the side door handle also took more than one try before my vehicle would lock.

I have called them several times to get the manager to call me back with promises that she would. It has been almost two months since this incident without even a phone call to apologize.Desired Settlement: I wish to the towing company to pay for my vehicle to be checked out by my dealer in case there is any lasting damage.

Dear Miss. [redacted] & Revdex.com,

As a roadside assistance provider Roadway Towing provides roadside assistance for disabled vehicles such as jump starts, tire changes and towing. At times our customers are unable to wait with the vehicle, in which they are offered or will request an unattended tow. In the event the customer is not present, it is then suggested to leave the keys with the vehicle so the tow operator would be able tow the vehicle at the desired place or repair. In many cases, our customers prefer to lock the keys inside the vehicle instead of leaving the vehicle unlocked with the keys visible. The tow operator is given the vehicle information in which then proceeds to tow the vehicle once he verifies with dispatch the vehicle information. As we tow unattended vehicles often, the tow operators do experience neighbors from preventing the tow operators from picking up the vehicle assuming the tow operator is repossessing or impounding their neighbor’s car, as Roadway Towing only tows for roadside assistance and law enforcement.

Unfortunately, there was some confusion on our tow operator’s behalf as he was assigned the same vehicle description as the same location.

Our administrative staff is very receptive and genuinely concerned when a complaint may arise and is brought to our attention. This is not normal practices for our dispatch staff not to inform management of any issues that may arise.

Roadway Auto Towing would like to express our deepest regret for any inconvenience Miss [redacted] experienced.

Roadway Auto Towing and their staff would like to also send their sincerest apologizes to Miss [redacted] for any misunderstanding or miscommunication as management will be contacting Miss [redacted] regarding the incident.

Cordially,

Roadway Auto Towing

I had the same horrible experience with this company as the many, many other people complaining about them. My truck broke down on I-15 near Escondido and USAA contacted them to tow my truck. I was sick so I had to get a ride home and my roommate stayed with the truck and waited for the tow. Two hours went by and no tow truck. My roommate called and [redacted] answered the phone, and not only did she not let him even ask her anything, she hung up on him. I called and she did the same thing to me. She would not let me get a word in edgewise and hung up on me. I called back and said, "Did you hang up on me?" She said she put me on hold, but she didn't tell me she was. I said, "You really need to tell people when you put them on hold or they think you have hung up on them." She said something rude and hung up on me again. I called back and said you keep hanging up on me and not giving me a chance to ask...before I could finish my sentence she hung up on me again. I called back and said "You hung up on me again. Slow down and listen." She interrupted me, yelling at me, so I told her to shut up and listen. She hung up on me again. So I called back and said I was going to complain to USAA and make sure they don't use them anymore. I called USAA and complained, so they are going to investigate. They told me they don't take kindly to their customers being treated so disrespectfully. Then I called her back and said, "You're toast now, babe!" I will be filing complaints with San Diego County, the Revdex.com and any other consumer advocacy organization I can think of. THEY GET 0 STARS...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...NO MATTER WHAT!!!
