I write in response to Complaint ID [redacted] I was hired by Claimant on a renovation projectThe agreed upon cost of the project was based on number of labor hours and cost of materials furnishedThis was an old home and many problems were discovered below the surface materials after work commencedThe after discovered issues caused additional labor hours to be spentDue to the increased hours spent, I unilaterally elected to lower my hourly rate to help keep costs down.The bamboo flooring was purchased independently by ClaimantI explained that there needed to be transitions between all of the doorways, however, Claimant refused to allow the installation of transitions, as she did not like the appearanceAs advised, without the transitions in place, the floor lifted slightlyWithout any expense to her I removed all of the floors and reinstalled them using glue to help prevent the buckling in the future.The asbestos portion of the complaint is misleadingThis issue, if any, was created by an acquaintance of the ClaimantThis acquaintance was verbally abusive and threatening to me and the subcontractors on many occasionsFrom the beginning of this process, I always had Claimant’s best interests in mind I did the work for the best possible price and solved any problems that arose without additional costs to herI never walked away from helping her even when being abused by the acquaintanceI did everything I could to help Claimant get through this and never refused to work with her.Yours truly
