Review: Upon confirming with Dr. [redacted] office that it is part of the in-network provider for [redacted] (my brother) made an appointment for my tooth extraction for 3-12-2015. On March 12th, I was charged $634 and I paid this amount. When I asked why the charge was so high since Dr. [redacted] was an in-network provider, I was told not to worry as the office would re-adjust the final amount, upon being compensated from [redacted].
One of the secretaries at Dr. [redacted] office contacted [redacted] a few weeks later to let him know that [redacted] made a mistake by writing a check in my name in the amount of $211.20. They made it clear that although the check was in my name, it belonged to Dr. [redacted]. They wanted me to bring the check to their office immediately. When I contacted [redacted], a representative told me that this was no mistake. [redacted] went on to explain that the check was sent to me since Dr. [redacted] office does not participate in [redacted]. The representative further explained that his office in [redacted] had never participated in [redacted]
[redacted] then contacted Dr. [redacted] office and told the secretary what [redacted] had said. The secretary disputed [redacted] side of the story, arguing that [redacted] has been making this type of mistake in the recent months. The secretary then assured him that the office will contact [redacted] and then follow-up with him. Several days had passed and we did not hear anything from Dr. [redacted] office, so [redacted] contacted the office. When [redacted] asked about the status of my situation, the secretary told [redacted] that the deadline in which the office could re-submit a modified claim had passed and that they were unable to do anything else. The bottom-line is that I have been lied to by Dr. [redacted] office, telling me that its [redacted] office is part of [redacted] in-network provider when clearly it is not.Desired Settlement: I do not believe I owe Dr. [redacted] office anymore than what I have already paid ($634). My desire is for Dr. [redacted] office to cancel this bill in the amount of $525.
