Review: The weekend started off well. The cabin we had rented was clean and in good condition. We came at the invitation of family who own a camper and were staying at the campground for the weekend. The camp has a policy of "quiet time" at 11PM. My family (in the camper) had several other families with whom are friends staying at the campgrounds as well and come 11 PM they were standing near their camper talking, maybe about 10 people,...not shouting...not playing music...not acting up...simply talking. A "security guard" of sorts comes over at a few minutes past 11 and starts swearing, dropping the * bomb about how they were being too loud and out of control. He then goes in to some tirade about how no one listens to him how "they are just trying to fire" him anyway. He then starts calling coworkers who were staying overnight at the campground asking for them to come down and back him up. The coworkers come down in their PJ's to see what is going on only to find out that NOTHING is going on. He ends his tantrum by saying he's just going to quit and stomps off. Figuring that was the end of it, the family/friends go on to try and enjoy the next night. Come 11:01PM the next night when sitting around a fire next to the camper, a different security guard comes over to tell them to break it up because they are not dealing with it tonight. At the time he came over, no one was even talking, just sitting staring at the fire. A camper who was not even present during this time came over to ask what was going on and interjects that he was not bothered by any noise and he was staying right next door. That camper came back the next day to find an "eviction" notice on his camper telling him he was no longer welcome at the site (He wasn't even there!) A week after our unpleasant visit, the family of mine who referred us to the campground received a notice in the mail that they were now BANNED from this campground. Never once did the owners reach out to get the guests version of events.Desired Settlement: The campground needs to take a serious look at its' "security" policies and perhaps invest a little in to the training of its' people. Instead of exploring the issue, the owners take the word of their anxiety riddled employee who stated that the campers think "they are better than" him and was the one dropping the curse words at their customers. Our money can spend elsewhere. We do not need to be verbally abused on our vacations.

Dear Representative at the
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to complaint ID #[redacted].
After a full review of security issues over the weekend of October 10- 12, 2014, we determined that a
specific group of campers are not a fit for the Uniontown KOA campground. They will not be permitted
to camp or visit in the future. We assume they are the individuals who may have filed this complaint as
it is very similar to the reviews they have posted online as well.
In the letter, they express, “Never once did the owners reach out to get the guests version of events.”
They apparently did not realize that they were speaking to both owners on the Sunday of the weekend
in question just before check out. An individual representing the group came into the office and in her
own words confirmed that a group of at least 10 people, but maybe more, were gathered around the
campfire after our very explicit quiet hours. It is very difficult for 10 adults, most drinking alcohol, to be
as quiet as our rules require.
Unfortunately, when adults drink alcohol all day and night, they very often do not realize that they are
talking and laughing much louder than they think. What seems like “just talking” is often in reality very
obnoxious and disrespectful “bar-like” behavior. We do not tolerate that kind of behavior at our family
campground. We received numerous complaints about this group from other campers who were very
fearful of this group finding out they complained.
On more than one occurrence, security was needed at this group’s site during the weekend.
Our rules clearly state that:
“Loud, boisterous or profane language will not be tolerated.”
“Anyone disrupting the stay of another camper may be asked to leave the premises.”
“Quiet time is from 11 pm until 7am.”
“No loud conversations or disturbances will be allowed.”
“Quiet Hours are strictly enforced to ensure a pleasant stay for all of our guests.”
“Campers are responsible for the actions of their guests, visitors, relatives, and children.”
Many in this group, which they report was actually about 40 individuals, violated all of the above rules.
They will not be permitted back on our property.
Sincerely
[redacted] and [redacted]
