It is great to have a place nearby to take your pet in an emergency-howevprepared to pay!
For the record, you are told upfront what the cost is to walk in the front door, and asked for a deposit to get started After the examination, you are then presented with a projected statement I have since spoken with two other families that have just gone there The total cost is RARELY UNDER $2000, and generally more
When you cringe at the first estimate, they go back and "work the numbers" to offer you a better price for reduced care
This business is an emergency facility-the people/pets that come through their doors are frantic, scared, heartbroken and unprepared for the situation at hand
I personally was made to feel like a bad pet owner for depriving my pet of better service due to my lack of funds
Are they a good medical facility-yes, do their business practices totter on the line of unethical.........let's just say, shame on you Rivergate Pet Emergency Clinic I felt like I was dealing with pirates in my time of need I know that you are in business to make $$$$, but really-stop being pigs There is no way that you can justify what you charge
I dare you to compare your rates to those of any competent vet in the area
I took my pet to my own vet in the morning when they opened.....instead of $2000, I paid $ for EXCELLENT care!
To all of the pet owners in the area, I just pray that your emergency takes place during business hours!
