Review: To Whom It Concerns:I have been a client of River Oaks Property Management for approximantely 8 years. Originally, the business was owned by [redacted]. A few years later, it was transferred to her daughter, [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] performed a decent job (many tenant complaints but all-in-all, her work was sub-par). Sometime around July of 2014, I began to notice a lack of response from Ms. [redacted]. I would call or text for rental fee updates and would not hear back from her for 2 - 4 days. In September 2014, I texted her for rental fee updates and did not hear back. I repeatedly texted, emailed and called her business lines...all with no response. I finally was able to contact her, via Facebook, to find out she was on out of town. During this time, I noticed the company website was not functioning. I also received a notice in the mail stating the business had been sold to another real estate company. When I confronted Ms. [redacted] on this matter of selling her business, she denied the claim. I then contacted the person from whom the memo was sent, only to be told that Ms. [redacted] was not being truthful. Since this time, I have contacted Ms. [redacted] on three separate occasions and have asked that she provide back to me copies of my rental contracts and fees held by her company, given to her by me, totaling $400 ($200 per home), as I requested that our partnership end. I have not heard back from River Oaks in regards to my request, with no response received what so ever. I only wish to move on and find another property management firm to handle my rental homes, but cannot do so until my contracts and fees are returned. I'm not sure what else to do and have come to the Revdex.com for any assistance/guidance which they may be able to provide. Thank youDesired Settlement: Return of rental contracts and Property Management held maintenance fees (fees held by company to cover the cost of potential maintenance, which is then replenished by the owner, myself). These fees are a "slush fund" so that the property management company does not come out of pocket to cover any maintenance fees. An amount of $200/per home ($400 in total) was required to be held by the property management company, at all times.
