This is my original email complaint submitted to Boat US against Riva Motor Sports Miami "To Whom it May Concern, On July 25th, I went to the Riva Motor Sports Miami, Inc dealership and purchased a new Yamaha VX Deluxe Jet Ski from sales person [redacted] purchasing the watercraft [redacted] and the finace manager recommended the Yamaha Extended Warranty, which we purchased for an additional $(Warranty Attached) The watercraft has been used and properly maintained as instructed at day of purchaseOn March 5th, we took the watercraft to Riva Motor Sports for a sale inspection at a cost of $At that time, a couple of items showed some damage including an oil leakSo we asked Riva Motor Sports Miami, Inc dealership that same day for them to replace/fix the part still under warrantyThey advised that this was not covered by Yahama Warranty because oil changes & maintenance was never done with themThat is something that was never explained at time of Warranty purchase After some back and forth with the people at the service deptthey advised that fixing the oil leak would not be covered by warranty nor would be fixed by them, that it needed to be fixed by the company who last completed the watercraft MaintenanceHowever, they offered to complete another inspection for $to find out exactly from where the leak was coming from This is the second incident I have had with Riva Motorsports Miami, Incwhere they refuse to repair previously sold items at their dealershipNot only am I very angry and annoyed that they sabotaged the sale of my watercraft but I am also very disappointed that these people are still in business I believe Riva Motor Sports Miami, Inc should start taking responsibility for what it sells to its consumers. Attached are copies of all documents provided at time of purchase I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem by March 18,before seeking help from the BoatUSConsumer Protection BureauPlease contact me at the above email address or by phone at In this email I have copied everyone that has been involved in any way, along with my attorney and the BoatUS Consumer Protection Bureau." Not only have I had a horrific time with these people since I purchased my watercraft but they have shown complete lack of customer service skills I would encourage anyone looking to purchase watercraft or anything else these people sell to look somewhere else Thanks
