I purchased a board in September 2018 and it was great for a few months, then slowly parts started to fail. I had gone through a few "drive bearings", countless belts, and finally there was a catastrophic failure where the axle on my truck snapped off after about a year of owning it. Prior to that, service was great- I would get a response in a day or two. Once the truck snapped, it lead to many other issues- I had to replace a motor, battery (2x), logic board (3x), remote, and the board still isn't working 6 months later. A year into owning it, I have spent roughly half the value of the board on replacement parts and shipping. I can not get a response from support anymore.
The item in question came with a 6 month warranty, which ended 12 months ago. Though out of warranty, we have been in constant communication with the customer offering solutions to their issues and continue to today.
The skateboard had inherent issues from the date of sale. There was not a 6 month timeframe where the skateboard was fully operational.
I ordered an electric skateboard from Ride Riptide on Black Friday 11/29/2019, received it 12/22/2019 didn't open it until 12/24/2019 because it was a Christmas gift for my daughter. When we opened it we realized there was no Control Remote and the power button was pushed all the way in like if they put it there on purpose or something, I immediately emailed them to *** on 12/26/2019. Got a response 12/30/2019 stating they would in contact with their lead engineer to find out the next steps. Later that day they stated that they could send a replacement battery box, speed controller at no cost and asked if I was okay with that I said no I wanted an RMA Label and A refund at their cost. Before this response I didn't even know there was no Battery Box in the electric skateboard I thought it was just the control but no they basically just sent me a board. Any who fast forward to 01/01/20 they responded stating they requested a return label and will send it to me once they received it. Comes 01/07/20 I emailed them asking if they had an update on my RMA label, no response. I emailed again 01/13/20 again no response. It's 01/14/2019 and no solution just yet.
We sent this customer a return label, they sent the board back, and we processed the refund. We recommend they get in contact with PayPal to see what may be holding up the refund.
