providers adhere to a standard of care which requires that urine labs collected for UTI symptoms are sent to a laboratory to confirm the clinical diagnosis and identify complicating factors, or the presence of more severe conditionsIn this case, the patient signed a consent form acknowledging the need for further lab testing which could not be performed at our facility and notifying the patient of the possibility of additional chargesThis was also explained to the patient by our billing department via telephoneUnfortunately, we do not have any control over outside laboratory or other specialist billingWe recommend that the patient contact the laboratory directly to discuss any concerns regarding her bill.Thank you again for the opportunity to respond.Sincerely,Alisha B*** Director of Care Center Operations
